992 Live Feed- Keep your 991
I just watched the live 992 launch.
I am so happy I have a 991 GTS.
I will definitely be keeping it.
I was a little worried when I ordered a new GTS as the new 992 was coming out but now I am so happy I bought it.

I think the front end does not look very good. But the interior is miles better than my 991.1. Love the rear hips and light bar as well. 100% they will revise the front end for the GT3. 992 GT3 is my 2022 goal and cannot wait!!!

god, i really don't like the cylon rear end.
I don't like the interior that much either, the central console is so plastic and glossy. I think my ocd issues would be magnified and I would be cleaning it everyday.
I know a bunch of my friends will be asking me why the hell didn't I just wait and buy the 992, vs my 991.2 c2s on order.... I'm going to be explaining myself a lot I guess.
The price increase is about 5% up for the msrp (pdk is no cost now), but I think with similar options, the car will be about 10% more than I am paying now.

i'm really at a loss as to why they would have replaced the pdk manual shifter with this little ****. do most people not use the pdk manual shifter? i guess in the normal world (outside of this enthusiast forum) i can imagine most people not using the shifter other than bringing it from P to D, but come on Porsche the 911 is a performance car first for the 911 enthusiast. reading all these posts i don't see any 911 enthusiast (at least on Rennlist) enthusiastic about this new ****. That **** for me is the biggest fail in my opinion.
In Korea, due to some dumb law, no manual transmissions are imported. So having this pdk be able to shift in manual mode with a proper feeling shift **** is so important for me to enjoy my car. I dont care how good the 992 may end up looking with the different variations to come but that **** will always detract me from switching over from my 991

I’m sure I’ll get used to it but the rear end appears rather fussy with lots of disparate styling elements. I’m also sure it drives nicely (because 911) but will it be noticeably different to the 991.2?

Not convinced with the new 992 design. I'm sure it brings several improvements to the driving experience but looks are still important for me. The hood looks strange and still not sure about the back of the car. For those that use this car for tracking purposes, they won't be happy with a longer chasis and additional weight.
Interior is the biggest disappointment. They killed the car with that tiny shifting ****..... what happens now with those that want the PDK but still use it to do manual changes ? I drive a lot in manual mode with a preference of using the shifting **** rather than the paddles.
The car now looks too much alike to the new Cayenne (I own one) and sacrifices some things in order to include a bigger screen. Don't get me wrong.... I like a big screen but I actually don't use it when I'm driving since I'm too busy enjoying the drive and how the car feels, so I don't really care about it. This is a case for me where more is not a good thing.
Worst part for me is the new location of the airvents. They did the same thing t in the Cayenne which is lowering their position. I just hate it since now in the Cayenne they are too low and in order for the system to work as I like it, now I have to permanently operate the AC almost at full blast. For those buying in the future the Cabrio version of the 992 I think is going to be a pain since during the hot days, you have to run the current AC system at full blast. With the new design I don't know how you are going to be able to direct those vents straight to your face.
Good first look at the car by Carfection.....
