Love the 992??! Please come in and tell us why in a NON BASHING, CONSTRUCTIVE thread

I feel like I need to say this once again to get this thread back on track: This thread is for those that LOVE the 992. Whiners, please head to the HATE thread. And I say this with all due love and respect. By the way, for those that decry the supposed influence of VW, do you know who VW's largest shareholder and majority voting shareholder is?

As someone who owns a 718 I can't really agree with any of the arguments you made. The sound is just fine(especially in the cabin) albeit different from the 6cyl. I am not noticing any turbo lag in the S version. In my opinion 718 => 981 is not at all a parallel with the 992 succeeding the 991.2. The 992 has multiple questionable elements changed, such as the shifter and the 3rd brake light, whereas the 718 was an improvement in every possible way other than it singing a different tune, which is totally fine by me anyways.

I think I like it overall but there are probably enough things about it that will keep me from buying.....
Don't care for the side view mirrors, 3rd brake light, shaver shifter, lack of ability to shift PDK from shifter, piano black on center console. All minor things but for me those things get bigger as the price increases and $130,000+ is a chunk of change to not be 100% happy.

I like the longer, notched hood. The whole front of the car continues to grow on me.
The rear looks... off. I could see it being vastly improved with an aftermarket or OEM Turbo ducktail.
I just hope the driving experience has been improved, and not muted; shifter adjustments, power steering improvements, and the like.

I totally agree. The front of the car is beautiful but the rear needs something to break the line of the swoop. A spoiler or ducktail will suit it perfectly.

Great thread revival! I figured this thread was as dead as my good reputation around here!
This thread took a very nasty and misunderstood turn at some point a few pages back but I'd love to see what others think about the 992 vs 991 and WHY they think it's a better car aesthetically.

The 992 Carrera on the other hand... Not even close to any 991 aesthetically.
