So I have confirmed with Do88 that their system retains the factory rock guard screens that are in the fender intakes.

I think I am going to pull the trigger on the do88 system because I need all the flow I can get with the PTME1100 turbos. Going to do the 80mm system. I will have the turbo inlets from Do88 for sale if anyone wants, they are 66mm I believe.

Oh yes, I bought the PIWIS3.0 from F4 referral as well. Excited to get that running so I can see more parameters on the car and do relearns, etc if required. No more dealer visits!

@piripi14 - M Eng has PTME1100 Turbos in stock! hint hint

do88 makes a quality system, but the APR system appears to flow more air at a lower depression. It looks like a 33% increase over stock for do88, and a 45% increase over stock for APR. Just food for thought

Can you explain this further?

Sure thing. So if we look at the graphs for airflow that both APR and do88 provide, and we pick 30 [inH20] (0.075 [bar]) for our pressure drop, we see roughly 1300 CFM from APR and 1050 from do88. Now that is not a fair comparison because flowbench readings can be heavily influenced by setup. Therefore, if we compare to stock airflow numbers, APR shows roughly 920 CFM and do88 shows roughly 800 CFM at that same 30 [inH20] or 0.075 [bar]. That is a 34.2% increase over stock airflow for APR, and a 27.0% increase over stock for do88. That same trend follows throughout the graph if you pick other points and do the same comparison.

The noticeable increase is good to hear. Just to make sure the only changes performance wise were the ipd plenum, boost pipes, and air box?

Yup - my latest upgrade included the IPD plenum, the do88 turbo-side tube kit, and the APR intake kit . . . I'm running the same stage II ME tune as before - no change to the tune. Not sure if ME could futher optomize this given the substantial increase in air, but once I have everything dialed in, I'll probably talk to them about a new / dyno tune. . .

That's incredible. I think you've sold me on performing these upgrades!

Disassembled the throttle body etc last night, and reseated all boots and connectors - seems that this solved all the problems. Very happy with the upgrades - highly recommended. It just dumped a bunch of snow last night, so doubtful I will get any draggy data anytime soon . . . but will post here when I do.

I also swapped out the Akrapovic 200 cel cats for SOUL catless pipes just to see how much louder it is - MUCH louder. Sounds AWESOME, but probably too much for me for a street car. I'm going to drive it a bit more once WX clears up, and then swap back to the 200 cel cats . . .

Catless is awesome, I love it!

it sounds a bit loud initially, but you get used to it.

if you put it into Normal mode it tones the note down a bit too.

No snow here in Canada yet, it’s unheard of these warm temps and no precipitation.

watch your lamda doesn’t lean out if you took the cats off, more flow, might need more fuel added to the tune.

^ And any real world results or metrics done after this was installed?

Performance parts that don’t perform erk me. Need data points.

I'll have mine installed Tuesday and will try and get a 60 to 130 and compare with my previous run.

I really wish I had of done some baseline runs before I embarked on this project - was a serious error / oversight not doing that as even though is "feels" faster, that's a qualitative "feeling" - I hope other members will chime in with true quantitative data, similar to @Angryinch with all his mods and the supporting draggy data . . .

You shouldn't beat yourself up over it. Worse comes to worst you had fun doing it and it looks nice.

Thanks @Shogunade ! Yes, it was a fun project, and don't regret it one bit - but I like to think I'm an engineer driven by data, and hard to know the fruits of your labors without quantitative data. I'm happy with the results - just don't know "how" happy! Really, should have done the mods one by one and then done several test runs, while endeavoring to adjust for differences in DA, etc. . . .but in the end of the day, these mods all seem to make sense, and most were quantified by others or the OEM . . . I'm hoping some of the smarter / more experienced members of this forum will fill in the blanks!

I'm currently building a new hanger / workshop with a dyno built into the floor - unfortunately it's a dynocom 2wd version - a very nice dyno, but only 2wd . . .really wish I had of sprung for a 4wd version, and built the corresponding pit into the floor. Should still be able to get good data on a 2wd version I think . . .
