Default COBB Accessport for Porsche 992 Turbo S

Porsche's next generation of it's iconic 911, deemed the 992, spares no expense and in the uber-powerful Turbo S trim, the speed and power are simply unfathomable to most automotive enthusiasts. We're known for getting even more performance out of the Porsche platform and that's exactly what we did with the Porsche Turbo S using our in-house software, the AP3-POR-018 Accessport device, and our team of expert calibrators. And the best news is that customers in California are safe to install and cruise down the PCH because this Accessport and the associated tunes all have an Executive Order from CARB making it 50-state legal under D-660-161!

The Accessport V3 is the world’s best selling, most flexible ECU tuning solution for Porsche. Unlock power hidden within the vehicle by replacing conservative factory settings with more aggressive calibrations. Upgrade forever with included off-the-shelf (OTS) calibrations and the ability to custom tune for most bolt-on modifications via Accesstuner Pro. It’s the last engine management solution you’ll ever need. Installation takes just 20 minutes from the comfort of your own garage or driveway. Simply connect the included OBDII cable to your 992's OBDII port under the steering column and follow intuitive the on-screen instructions.

Vehicles Supported:*Note - 992 Carrera / S / GTS / Turbo support is in development and coming soon!

992 Turbo S Power Gains

Our Stage 1 calibrations for the 992 Turbo S are available for either 91 or 93 octane fuel and their increase over stock is truly astonishing. On 93 octane fuel, we are seeing 693 whp tuned compared to 618 whp stock and a mind-bending 702 wtq tuned compared to 570 wtq stock. This means you have an additional 132 lb-ft of torque on tap in the mid range along with an increase of 75 hp pulling you through the powerband.

Stage 1 93
  • Peak: +11.90% HP / Max: +23.50% HP
  • Peak: +23.20% TQ / Max: +23.80% TQ
Stage 1 91
  • Peak: +7.90% HP / Max: +19.90% HP
  • Peak: +19.40% TQ / Max: +20.00% TQ
For additional information, See Map Notes.

Accesstuner Pro Custom Tuning

For those interested in custom tuning, our Accesstuner Pro software also now supports these vehicles. Any of our Authorized Porsche Protuners can create a custom calibration for use with your Accessport. Find a COBB Porsche Protuner HERE.

This is awesome! Glad there is a 50 state CARB legal tuning option. Anything coming out for the non-turbo 992s? Also note that you posted in the non-turbo 992 forum. It would be great to move this over to the 992 Turbo/S forum, but I am curious to know when or if you will release a CARB legal tune for standard, S, and GTS 992s.

Yes, we're already well into non-Turbo/S development and should be able to start rolling out that support this Fall.

And whoops! Yeah, we'll get it moved to the appropriate Turbo/S sub-forum.

Does the tune get rid of autostart/stop? Also will there be a pdk tune like the 991 generation coming?

Currently In process. Turbo support will be a quick firmware update to the Accessport and then you'll be good to go. No official time frame available yet but we're shooting for before the end of this year at the latest.

No, we do not alter Auto Stop/Start behavior due to emissions compliance concerns.

We are planning to provide a PDK tuning solution in the future as well but the timeline is extended as we want to provide a solution via the OBDII port that does not require sending the TCM module in.

Thanks!

I have Access Port left over from my 991.2 Turbo S that I sold - can I use this with my 992 Turbo S or is it useless now?

How does this compare to the M-Engineering tune? Is the main differentiator here CARB compliance?

As long as you uninstalled the Accessport from your 991.2 Turbo S then you'll be able to use that same AP on your 992 Turbo S via a paid programming update that you can perform at home. Just contact our customer service team at support@cobbtuning.com or 866-922-3059 and they'll be able get you all squared away with the part number change cost and the instructions on how to perform the update.

CARB compliance is one of the largest differentiators to any of our competitors, yes. One question we received a ton recently from people at Porsche Parade was if you have to remove the Accessport for California SMOG testing and the answer is no. Since all of the OTS maps include an EO number you're able to leave the AP installed, and flashed to whichever performance map you choose, and still pass any emissions testing. Other major differences between the Accessport and some of our competitors are much the same as most other vehicles we support such as:
  1. The AP provides the ability to store hundreds of different maps from our supplied OTS maps to any custom map made by any Protuner worldwide
  2. Access to a worldwide network of Protuners who can customize a calibration (map) for your modifications, fuel quality, etc, both on site via a dyno or remotely via email and logging
  3. Ability to flash your ECU, monitor live data, and log live data, without having to bring a lap top with you to the car
  4. Free analyzation of logs made using OTS maps to confirm vehicle running state by our experienced customer service staff
  5. Ability to uninstall the AP and use it on any other compatible vehicle immediately or as detailed above, reprogram the AP to be used on any other supported vehicle = No sunk cost tuning
