992.2 GT3RS
Quite honestly, according to sites I've looked up, there is a common misconception that all 911s built between 1974 and 1989 are 'G-series' cars. In fact, the G-series was only produced for the 1974 model year. It was followed by the H, J, K, and so on.Model year 1974 (G Series. Aug. 1973 to July 1974 production)
Model year 1975 (H Series. Aug. 1974 to July 1975 production)
Model year 1976 (I Series. Aug. 1975 to July 1976 production)
Model year 1977 (K Series. Aug. 1976 to July 1977 production)
After this they used a different nomenclature to identify generations. From 1978 through 1983 they had the 911 SC. From 1984 through 1989 the 911 was referred to as the Carrera 3.2. It was 1989.5/1990 when they began using the 3 digit numbering for the generations. That began with the 964. It is true they varied these generations a bit, but since the 997 generation, they are usually about 8 years.

It may possibly be due to the relatively small changes (apart from the introduction of the Turbo) that were made to the car in the period from 1974 to 1989, alternatively they wanted to simplify it on their webpage. This was the period when Porsche thought the 911 would die off.
**[992 GT3 RS PHASE 2] — A new video has just reached us 🔥**
A prototype of the Porsche 992 GT3 RS has been spotted today undergoing full testing at the Nürburgring 🤩
At the front, the change is radical. The new bumper is more aggressive and now incorporates enlarged air intakes. The hood also benefits from additional aerodynamic enhancements, further reinforcing the extreme character of the GT3 RS 🤯
At the rear, we find elements already mentioned, such as modified exhaust outlets and a reworked diffuser. This time, one detail particularly catches our attention: the large air outlet located above the license plate appears completely exposed. So, is it camouflage or a genuine evolution? We should know more soon… 👀
Another major change: the rear wing is now composed of three horizontal elements instead of two.
This coming November, the more stringent Euro 7 emissions standard will come into force. This time, Porsche may be forced to rethink its approach by adopting a turbocharged engine for the next generation of the GT3 RS 🤔
At the same time, a specialist from Porsche AG told us that “the 992 GT3 RS phase 2 will definitely appeal, thanks to its new onboard features.” For now, no further details have been revealed…
👉 So, what do you think of the future 992.2 GT3 RS?
I wonder how its going to affect sales of the MR packages when the new model blows the last model on track, OEM without Manthey package for much less...
I was at Manthey last week for the grand tour, should have asked.
I guess the GT2RS will be the GT3RS, but lag free.
Nuts
