If this is true, the 3RS Turbo will be epic.

Just spoke to an ex Porsche Engineer that left the company, he was part of the 992.2 GT3RS project, it's gonna be the GT3 4.0 9000rpm engine but adding 2 turbos at the end of the exhaust making 650hp. Same exhaust setup as the 992.2 Turbo S but routing the end of the exhaust to the center. This is the only way to manage heat and emissions for Euro 7.

GT2RS will be a target 900hp hybrid with looks of a GT3R Rennsport.

Yup. Its done deal. I have spoken to sources as well.
992.2 3RS, turbo. 992.2 2RS, hybrid pushing close to 1000hp.

Launch in end of April, beginning of May. Delivery starts in fall, Europe first.
We, US, will see deliveries in spring/early summer 2027..

So if I understand correctly, the 2025 GT3RS is the last naturally aspirated RS ever.

There are some people on here with tight relationships with Porsche, others who are thick as thieves with their GMs etc. and others who just make crap up. Would be a much more helpful place if people at least gave a hint at where info is coming from or if they are purely guessing...especially since so many people are bad at framing their posts.

One time, I got very good inside info on a different brand while at Pebble, directly from the North America CEO. I posted it online, and had 4-5 people jumping on me that I was wrong. Their source...YouTube videos.. My source...NA CEO. Context matters. It happens here less, but also when the folks with the good knowledge get attacked it simply makes them post and share less...the opposite of what we'd hope for.
well, its a forum and the internet. lots of bull **** in both.

some people are told things in confidence and share with the community to help others. there is nothing wrong with that.

maybe stick to your 1980 c&d hard copy for data. no offense

Will make the 992.1 look cheap.
The 992.2 will have the power the chassis needs, but I'll start preserving the N/A RS until they come back to NA.

I doubt they’ll ever come back to NA for 3RS. I think 992.1 is the end of the line.

I think 992.2 3RS will be fantastic, but more like a 2RS than what a 3RS has been.

@bobodrink
so basically a twin turbo but the gt3 4.0l engine at its core? Did he seriously say this turbo 992.2 GT3RS would still rev to 9000?

Why not call that gt2 since that's always been name for turbo GT car? Some still consider 991 gt2rs as top of line 911 ever

And seems tech has evolved to where turbo can rev same as na. Look at temerario and zr1. Amazing

Is it the same timing for both? If not, which one is first? Also, electric or conventional turbos on the GT3 (assuming GT2 is electric turbos, given it's a hybrid)

Turbo could rev high for a long time now. It just does not need to because it's easier, cheaper and more efficient to just up the boost instead, at least up to a point.
