Mine was Gentian. Probably one of most beautiful colors I've ever seen. However, it is very high maintenance (shows dirt/scratches easily) and is quite dark. I learned I need bright colors and had color regret. If you are ok with darker colors, it's incredible and you'll love it.

I like Gentian a lot too.
My 981 GT4 was sapphire blue and I really love blues!
Gentian is really deep and would have been my #1 choice had I not gone with Agate Grey to be more "stealthy".
Would be fun to have both.

The first time I saw Gentian was on a 718 Spyder and I couldn't take my eyes off of it. It would've been my choice if 1. i got a touring allocation and 2. no PTS.

Most colors CAN look great if the surrounding specs are good. On a Gentian Touring, I would have to have silver wheels and yellow CCBs.

A cognac interior is probably one of the best, if not the best, interior color for gentian. Don't worry too much, you're gonna love it.

Don't be afraid of Gentian . . . I've always been a Aetna or Meissen blue guy until I was offered a touring in Gentian. Originally came with silver wheels and associated badging but this one had a Manthey kit on it so opted for Neodyme and redid the door decals (but still kept original wheels for a future option). Gentian can shift from dark blue when dimly lit to a more brilliant blue with a slight purple hue in bright sunlight. You really have to see it in the sunlight in person to fully appreciate. I have the cognac interior as well and it pairs beautifully with it.

Also, didn't realize a blue car could attract so much attention — most times (~75%) I take mine out I get some guy (always guys, always) giving me a thumbs up or something. And these are short outings, ~twenty minutes each way.

And the thing about Gentian is the wheel pairing — I find the standard to be too bright so I got dark silver, but it's too dark. The neodyme has the right brightness, but I was iffy about gold wheels for the attention factor.

Agate Grey here and never really liked the brownish tone. I would prefer a Gentian Blue but if I had to pick one now... Azzurrothetysmetallic would be my choice.

The same thing happens when I take my Agate Grey Touring out.

In fact, I've never had a day that I've gone for a ride and not gotten at least ONE COMPLIMENT on the car while in traffic stopped at a light.
Usually get 2 compliments every outing. Even though I should expect it by now, it does continue to surprise me with the drooling and thumb's up that I receive.

I would agree with this too.

Yeah honestly I'm a bit surprised by how much attention the car gets. I honestly thought most people would just think it's another 911 but a lot of people seem to be aware of how special it is.

Gents, thanks for all of the feedback — am starting to feel a bit better already. Here’s a pic of the car as it prepares to be picked up. First change will be changing the red calipers to black. Following that I’ll plan to paint the wheels Neodyme or Black with a silver lip or maybe even dark silver.

@B194HR I love the shade of your wheels. Is this the ‘Satin’ option from the factory?
@GT3 Mike I saw elsewhere that you did PTS Anthracite Brown. You and I have similar tastes — I’m a big fan of “earthy” colors like Green and Brown (current 992 C4S is Aventurine Green with Truffle Brown leather).
@DodoBird @MF Jones — thanks for the continued encouragement on both Gentian AND Canadian importation

I really like the silver wheels and silver window trim. You might consider a silver sticker??? Anyway, drive it a bit and see if the current combo grows on you — it is how I would have spec’d it.

Thats a beautiful spec, congratulations! The wheels in my pic are Satin Dark Silver.
The wheels you currently have match your window trim perfectly, I’d suggest waiting, as others have said, and drive it as
it is for a while before changing anything.

I would totally keep the silver wheels to match the trim. Genetian is pure class and matches with silver and the touring ethos. The contrast is fire. Good with painting calipar black unless they belts match.
