I got the Front doors done today. That made a significant improvement in outside noise coming in. This was more profound of a change than the Musicar door kit I previously used on my C2S, but the Resonix kit was a lot more material and weight so results reflect that. Bass response is better and it seems to be punchier. Tomorrow I will knock out the rear area. I do not plan on removing the wheel liners so I will probably not be testing that.

As a FYI 2024 models with Bose has the woofer glued in place now. I suspect this was to solve the speaker rattle/buzz issue. It can still be done….just with a lot more cuts on the hand.

I’m trying to do this in sections to see what creates the most dramatic improvement. I figure I didn’t opt for the 18 ways, so this will make up the weight difference and make for a better driving car with more induction and exhaust noise and less of the harsh road noise.

Glad to hear that it was a nice improvement, even by just doing the doors! And yes, our products and system get you further than any other product and package out there. That said, the Musicar Kit does include some ResoNix CLD Squares
Also, I would highly suggest doing the wheel liners. It's a pretty substantial difference.
Also, interesting to hear about the woofer being glued to the door. Thats bizarre.

Today I was able to do the area under the rear carpet and with a few sheets of CLD tiles and stuff the rear shelf with fiber mat. This again made a noticeable difference. I feel that just getting the rear fenders lined with CLD tiles and fiber mat will finish off the need for further sound treatment.

I figured out how to remove the rear pieces but for the life of me I could not figure out how to remove the inner panels. If anyone has a link to a write up or YouTube video showing how to remove the side panels I would greatly appreciate it. My Google Fu is not strong.

I was able to wrap up this project this morning. I did not do the fender liners as I felt the car was fine with just the interior done. I ended doing the full doors (CLD, Guardina, butyl rope, and fiber mat, I did not put CLD on the inner fender as they didn’t seem to make much noise and they were covered in a foam rubber pad. I elected to rely on the lighter fiber mat for these types of areas. The rear fender was lined with CLD, Fibermat 25 lining and then stuffed with fibermat 45. I put strategic CLD in the center areas where the panels were large. Then I used up all the fiber mat 45 to fill in empty areas. I ended up having around 6 sheets of unused CLD, 1 sheet of fiber mat 25 and 1 sheet of fiber mat 45 left over so didn’t go with the full weight.

The sound level in the car is on point now and I can hear more exhaust and induction and substantially less road and tire noise. The car is so much more enjoyable now.

Great job on the install! There were definitely some hints in your text that you actually read some helpful information on our website, which I am glad to see. And thank you for the photos and detailed explanation of what you did and what the end results were. Let me know if you plan on using the left over sheets of Fiber Mat. If not, I can always get them returned for you.

Indeed…and watched all of the videos. The fiber mat is so effective and lightweight I’m tempted to just find more places on the car to stuff it.

Thanks! I have not had the chance to do ResoNix sound deadening and sound treatment on a Porsche 993, but if you want, we can maybe video chat with the vehicle and I can put one together for you. Let me know, I'm always willing to help and to accommodate.

The leftovers I had from the door and rear area came in handy today. I had an annoying rattle/buzzing coming from the dash area. I pulled the trim piece and started tapping around. I noticed there was some plastic overlap and I also found the screen to rattle in the center. If you feel under the screen it’s not solidly mounted and can vibrate. I used the Butyl rope and pressed it into all the contact points and also wedged it under the screen to keep it from vibrating. I then used some of the thin foam and cut sections out to put on all the flat sections that have contact with the trim piece. I’m happy to report the rattle is gone and the car sounds tight going down the road.

More adventures in rattle land. Found the noise that sounded like coming from the dash after I knocked out the screen rattle. This time the steering column cover was buzzing and rattling pretty bad. I just cut a few pieces of CLD tiles and stuck it inside and put a piece of felt to stop the wires from rattling.

On another note I found a pic of the Porsche NVH testers:
