I am coming due for the second year service and debating if I do all the items called out in the service. My car has 5,400 miles and changing the spark plugs and cabin filters seems like a waste. I have not called the dealer yet to check on pricing but I think I’m going to try to get a la carte pricing for an oil change, brake fluid flush and check on price for plugs and filters. Definitely not paying them 4-5 hours to check headlights and dust boots. I can’t imagine even the most honest of dealers spending more than 30-45 minutes checking all the items on the checklist. That is what drives the cost so high is all the “checking”, which is total BS.

Seems to be a common sentiment to blow off the spark plug change. This costs $180 and an hour of your time.

Here is an example of an issue when plugs left in too long (low miles):

I think people like myself that don’t do the work themselves want to blow it off because the dealers gouge for the 2 year service. I appreciate your post because the dealer mentioned this to me anecdotally but first time I have heard of a real issue. Guess I will do the plugs. Thanks for the post.

There has been some misalignment between the intervals in NA and Europe for some time now and not just Porsche. In Europe, the 992 GT3 is on two year service intervals, first service is oil, filter and brake fluid. The second service (@ 4 years) includes spark plugs. In that respect it's the same as the standard Carrera,

My dealer is asking for $2,500 for the second year service... others, coming up to year two of ownership?

$2,500 is a bargain price. I had to purchase the 2-year service warranty as a condition to get the car. However, they said I am saving a lot of money by purchasing the service contract for around $2,600.

My Porsche dealer is quoting me $2,200 for my 2 year service on my 992 GT3, inclusive of plugs, air filters, and brake flush. I'm inclined to just go ahead and do it, despite the need-questionability of replacing the plugs @ only 2,500mi, in order to maintain the service records.

REPLACE Engine Oil and Filter
• CHECK / Reset Maintenance Interval
• PERFORM Multi-Point Inspection: Fluid Levels, Belts, Brake Pads, Wipers, Tires, Interior
• INSPECT Air Filter Element
• REPLACE Pollen Pre-Filter Element (in Conjunction w/ Particle Filter)
• REPLACE Particle Filter

Additional
• PERFORM Brake Fluid Exchange Service (Every 2 Years, Regardless of Mileage)
• REPLACE Spark Plugs

Checking the engine air filters seems like an unnecessary expense (have to remove rear bumper) and they’re not due until 4 years or 24k miles….

Just confirmed with the dealer that the engine air filter and drive belt is part of the 4 year service. The 2 year service only calls for cabin air filters, spark plugs and a brake fluid flush. The above list is a bit confusing as I guess there is a cabin particulate filter.

That's because they ain't " checking " them, they're just making a cross mark on a sheet of paper...

There are 2 cabin filters : one by the frunk, takes 2 min to replace and a charcoal filter under the glovebox for which you have to use your body in a way Russian ballet dancers are doing it.
