Don’t forget about replacing wheel hubs and axles at 12k…
Just hitting 12k in my car but PCNA wants to buy it back, so no service here.

Don’t think it applies to cars never tracked, or it would have been on my sheets above…

Just for reference, I replaced my rear wheel hubs in Feb with about 8500 miles. I’m at 12k miles now and most of that is street driving. The left rear needs replacing already.

According to the worksheet I saw, if you track, it’s 6k and 12k cumulative. It’s not 6k/12k track miles.

I don’t understand why street miles are suddenly considered differently once the car is put on a track. Intuitively it would seem like the number of actual track miles is what truly matters. Now what the real necessary service interval is in terms of track miles, that is a good question…

The second transmission failure caused some overrevs, which freak out Porsche buyers and therefore dealers…
I requested the transmission and engine to be replaced. Instead, I was offered an offer that was too good to pass on for a car with 12k miles…

Three Wheelin'
I think I paid for my 2nd service when I bought the car. I was required to purchase the Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan - Plus 1.
I think that means my 2nd service is free, right?

Changing spark plugs every two years regardless of miles seems very wasteful. Most of us probably have less than 5000 miles on the car annually.
Brake fluid makes a bit of sense because it absorbs moisture even if not driven, but even that can be tested rather than just indiscriminately changed IMO.
The same goes for oil. These modern synthetic oils can easily last 5-10k miles but most of us are changing them every 1000 miles to stay in Porsche's good graces and avoid the pcm warning messages.
The cabin air filter is not getting any use in my car because I have the windows down every single time I drive the car anyway, I could care less if it's doing anything at all. And most of the time you can remove it, shake the debris out in the trash and put it right back in. The only time it needs to be replaced is it it starts to smell. If you car is always garaged and in a low moisture environment then you're just wasting money on replacing that too.
With that said, I get all the service done at the dealer simply because I feel for value retention, the service records should stay with Porsche and the car. It's super wasteful, and I wish that wasn't the case, but ...
If you're not concerned with record keeping, you can easily exceed the suggested intervals with no risk to the actual car. Of course, if you're tracking the car frequently then you're likely doing more frequent maintenance anyway.
Just my $0.02
