They should be paying for your hotel and should have sent you a fken limo. The fact that you took a bus. Shame on them.

Congrats on getting it back. Enjoy in good health.

I tried multiple times with different options for them to get me back to my car but their official stance was 'Porsche doesn't reunite owners with their cars'.

I should note I have a call in a couple hours with Porsche Senior Customer Commitment Specialist to discuss this whole mess so that is a point of discussion in my list.

Love a happy ending. Congrats.

Just be extra nice and you might get some big warranty. They just gave my GT4, 2 years unlimited mileage on the whole car and I still have 3 years of warranty left so now I have 5 years unlimited mileage on my car.

They called me at noon on Monday and the tech that was working on my car did not show up for work! Like, WTF. He eventually came in but they were not able to complete the car by 5pm so I had them pay for another night at the hotel. Anyway, low and behold, I finally got the key. The car was about 3hours from home via a boring straight-shot highway so I decided to take the road less travelled through some B-roads leading through the mountains for an 8hr drive home. The highways were smooth, autumn scenery was picturesque and traffic was basically non-existent. I had the roads all to myself to take it all in and I couldn't be happier. Another ~700km to go on break-in then 3 track days to cap the season which had almost passed me by.
If you're as good a driver as a photographer, then you've found the perfect car for you.

I think there should be some coverage via the roadside assistance program - can’t hurt to check it out. Either way, good to see you and the car reunited and well timed rip in the mountains.

I spend a little time on the track. I can say a friend broke in a new Huracan (over 1000 miles?) took it to an HPDE event, second session, fairly normal driving, it lost the engine. Calls dealer, is honest, dealer says "That's not a good look" which pissed me off instantly but that's a dealer employee. Lamborghini replaced the engine, no questions asked.

I'm in a group we are all planning to run GR86's. Did you see the wrath for Toyota when they denied a warranty claim that was their own fault for too much engine sealant clogging an oil tube? They ended up reversing course and covering the claim. The argument there is they provide two free HPDE days with NASA when you buy a GR based car. Then you don't cover a car that was "tracked"?

Anyway, gad they're replacing the engine. It is a GT car and should be driven hard. Nothing like a Porsche GT car on track. Coffee is nice but, it's not really a cars and coffee car. You're missing out if you don't drive it.

Best of luck!
