True and thanks. I am a new RS owner and am just amazed at how much fun I’m having with it on road and track. Plus, I think it still looks awesome. Not too many Miami Blue Weissach 3RS out there. Here’s picture of my new baby. Still lurking around these forums so keep up the debates!

Same as you on your remarks. I noticed right away that the 992 gt3 general build quality is better than the 991. The doors shut better with a very solid sound. Interior materials are slightly better quality. The car is easy to drive quickly especially on tight twisty roads. The 991.2 gt3rs was a bit hair raising on some of my favorite back road routes whereas the new gt3 is without drama and sticks like glue. The initial turn in at speed is shocking how good it is. I thought the 991.2 gt3rs was as good as it gets but the 992 gt3 is a better car. I like the looks of the gt3rs better and it is probably the best looking 911 to date IMHO

Still looks way more race car than 992. If that’s what’s folks are going for. Saw a GT Silver .2 RS with WP next to my 992 and it has so much presence. Legit race car on the street. GT3 a bit plain in comparison.

However, the 992 interior is just a step above. Not that the 991 is bad but it definitely feels dated.

To each their own. I love the 991.2 interior.

That is an intentional visual difference in GT3 vs. RS (although the new GT3 and former RS are peers on the track). The 992 RS is certainly not going to be plain

Same... Seriously blown away with the initial turn in. I can't wait to get more aggressive with it.

I feel the new RS will be very aggressive for sure. Can't wait to see it!

My Miami Blue RS is a head snapper and gets constant attention. My Gentian 992 GT3 gets far less attention except for those in the know. Color makes a big difference plus the gigantic GT3RS lettering on the side

Owned and extensively tracked my 991.2 for 3 years after picking up new on Euro Delivery in 2018. Traded it in when my new 992 GT3 last October. The 992 GT3 is better in every objective way. But if I had choice to buy again it would be 991.2 RS. Something so special about that RS, probably how it looks…new one is not pretty. On Track lap times a Tick better in 992 (tenths of second most places) because it’s so easy to drive at limits and feels more comfortable pushing it, where as 991.2 RS you had to really earn it. Let’s hope my 992 RS will cure my RS hangover as it’s first time I havnt had RS in garage for a long time

Point out the objective measurements - because they don't exist. The 991.2 RS is a little harder to drive at the limit.

There are national and state based databases that collect official times as recorded by real timing systems in real events measured to 1/10,000 of a second. Even US Porsche clubs collect this data.

The whole problem with Porsche world is gentlemen drivers - that really don't understand the reality of measurement and performance. Because 99% of them don't do it and buy xorsts, tunes, big brake kits, add shims for track alignments etc - yet never post track times that are quick in context or show a gain or improvement. Hot air.

Was there an option for the 19 RS with Weissach to have a painted front hood or were they all carbon?

Not sure it was an option but there was a shortage of high quality unpainted CF hoods because of production issues and as a result a number of Weissach package cars shipped with the painted hood with the CF unpainted one supposed to follow at a later date when available to be installed by dealer. Same as I recall with the CF steering wheel and paddles. They were some painted hoods posted for sale after CF hood finally arrived.

There is a yellow one on Auto Trader now with painted hood, carbon looks so much better

Or you can wrap the painted hood

obviously you have an RS and are getting angry that Porsche has built a better car. Just accept it. The 992 GT3 is a better car, there is nothing wrong with that. Such is progress. Why would Porsche make a worse car 3 years later on a new platform?

The car in stock form on stock tires at the same track/same day/same driver will be quicker, we have seen this on these so called sites. As i have said, they are not seconds of improvement but 10ths of a second. But what’s fascinating is that the 992 has less hp, and costs much less than 991.2 RS so it’s a win win proposition. My 992 was $195k, my 3RS was $227k. Both I added silly things, like I added Weissach on my RS, carbon roof on 992 but about $30k base difference between most builds seemed average.

as I said above, I would take my RS again for the long haul if buying one from scratch because I think it’s a more visually exciting car and it’s more rewarding to drive at the limit. But my word the improvements on how the 992 GT3 handles on track are really amazing. the people who say they can tell driving on the road are “hot air”. This 992 comes alive on the track and it’s shocking how much different it feels. The car is so smooth and stable at speeds, the turn in grip and stability through the turns is really stunning in comparison. Putting in a fast lap in RS was an accomplishment and you earned it; in 992 GT3 it’s almost too easy. Again why the driver in me likes the RS better because it was so much more challenging to get that lap.

have great day, there are no losers in this comparison, anyone who gets either is a lucky person!
