Quality Concerns with the new GT3

The cars that I was driving with were all highly modified cars. ie brakes, tires and chassis mods. The GT3 992 were all from factory on modifcations except tire pressure. We had 3 991's on the track and 3 992's on track running nose to trail with equal divers. After a few drinks after track went cold and a your discussion the main differences are as follows"
1.Brakes on 992 tend cool off quickly and tend to grab at the end of the straights. We noticed this condition to ease as the temp rose during the day. 992 factory brakes are not up the standard and we know why. 2025 pads.
2. THe 992 on high speed corners has a lot of traction but is differcuilt to rotate if you have a corner in opposite direction. Again this a factory setup with no changes. Easy to change with chassis alignment. The 992 will be faster than the 991 when changes are made.
3. The straight line speeds are better than the 991. The 992 requires a little feathering of throttle.
4. THe wonderful Porsche understeer that we have all have learned to love is almost gone but is still apparent. But with a different alignment it will help even more.
5. The corners where we were only turning one direction 992 was a little quicker than the 991.
I hope this will give some insight on the new GT3. Only the third day on the track still a lot to discover but so far a great car.

To make the car meet their performance AND purist targets, they had to use lighter materials, stiffer components. It is completely normal I am afraid and I doubt anything (besides a recall on the windows) will come out of it. And with the windows, if they have to go back to the regular windows then that might be not easy. If this was a supplier problem, thats great. Everyone gets new fixed windows. But if this werent a supplier issue and rather a miscalculation of engineering folks, then car might have to be crash tested again. Its weight updated, etc.
All other issues require redesign of components. Not going to happen. Its the end of the line folks. Car is what it is. Be happy it even exists

That’s actually a 2017 JK unlimited sport that has nothing left of what came out of the factory other than the body and frame.
new dynatrac axles, 392 Hemi swap with a cam, 37’s. Total monster lol. The JL’s don’t even come close to it. It’s FAST!

Very cool! I wheel a 2015 Wrangler on 35's and have tons of fun with it. Not fast fun mind you... but that's what the GT3 is for.

Took the car yesterday to the celebration of life for a very close friend and Smokies GT member who lost his battle to cancer in November. His wife asked me to speak about his love of cars and how it was so much bigger than a car. It was the moments that they create that drive the value.
It was pretty bad *** to roll up in a caravan of GT’s to his event.
Drove it home over the mountains and had a long talk with my 16 yo son about life and death and how you take what you learn from someone and never waste the gifts they left behind.
The car was so on point on the way home. Not once did I think about the glass or the cupholder. We got home. Hugged and just felt thankful to have something to bond over.
The car, even with its couple initial quirks, is climbing quickly up the ladder of where it ranks among the cars I’ve been lucky enough to own.
I have zero regrets trading my epic and perfect black 991.2 for this amazing machine.

Also, 992 is louder inside than RS. You mean the noise heard from outside RS was better?

Both stock exhaust …RS better sounding all around IMO. The RS has a more aggressive sound, inside the car and outside

the bigger question is how does 992 drive and feel vs RS?
