I wouldn’t be surprised if draining half the oil twice as often gets you better overall oil properties on average between the oil changes.
How so? Are you saying factory interval vs shorter interval (but comparing 992 to itself OR comparing it to 991?)
I change oil every 3,000 miles anyways but I still wouldnt be comfortable with left over oil. My Mobil 1 from the GT3RS in 2,000 miles had sheared down to 9.5, thats 30W oil. I cant begin to think what will happen to it in 5,000 or 7,000 miles let alone draining half of it and mixing it with newer oil and letting it circulate another same interval. Something is off here. Porsche wants you to change spark plugs every 12,000 miles but keep 50% of sheared down old oil in the car?

How did you feel about your used oil in the car at the 1500 mile mark? My point is whatever the interval was before, if you do it more often, it’s not obvious yet that a 50% drain is really a problem.
I'm in. I'm going to keep this car for about 40 more years before I donate it to a museum (with bald tires and rock chips everywhere). I plan on doing all my own maintenance so I better invest in the shop manual somehow.
