Summer 2021 GT3 Allocation, ADM, etc. Fresh Thread
#76
Anyone who is counting on GT3s routinely going for MSRP toward the end of the production cycle is smoking some seriously fine California grass. Not going to happen. Yes, there will be exceptions for the bloke who has an "in" with a dealership but for the average buyer, I guarantee that the GT3 will command an ADM until the end of its production cycle, as it did with the 991.2 GT3 (ask me how I know).

Just be honest, you don’t care about driving the car for the love of driving, you just want it for the ‘gram, and you want to spec it in a way that you lose the least amount of money for the duration of the hold.

For me, it was DTLA. I had a Touring allocation at the end of the production cycle in 2018. I was active on RL back then as well and I got plaudits from forum members for "only" paying a $10,000 ADM. Using recent history as my guide, demand will to continue to outstrip supply for the entirety of the GT3 production cycle and dealers will continue to play the ADM game.

Fast forward to now, I was totally willing to pay an ADM, but the dealer made me pay MSRP.. the world is weird.

chance6 and L2 - I think so too. And chance6, you are correct, as per my SA, the standard ADM for a GT3 allocation at DTLA was $25,000. They gave me a repeat customer discount because the Touring was my third 911 transaction in the span of 4 years (C2 cab lease, GTS cab purchase and GT3).

Wow. I definitely empathize for all you guys and gals who are dealing with the GT3 purchase soap opera. The ups, the downs, the twists, the turns. For me, it was a 2-3 year "process," from getting on the waiting list in 2016 (I was about #30 on the list when I first added my name to the list), to delivery of the car in March 2019. I am glad I persevered as the car is everything I dreamed of and more, but it requires an equal degree of patience and dough.

Hahaha…doofus would be generous. Sat down this morning on the can (toilet) for what should have been a solid #2, and decided to peruse Rennlist instead of WSJ or NEJM only to stumble upon this thread…sphincter tightened up with frustration slogging through the OP’s posts…like watching a train-wreck in slo-mo…

You can't make this stuff up. In late 2006 I was at a birthday party for a friend. A young lady told me that she had just quit her job as a hairdresser so that she could spend more time investing in houses to flip. I am sure that worked out great. I'll bet she is just waiting to get her GT3 at MSRP + $50K because she knows she can flip it and make another $50K.
