Summer 2021 GT3 Allocation, ADM, etc. Fresh Thread

Great point all around. I did think it was interesting / worth sharing with folks that an allocation came virtually effortless to an unqualified (me) potential buyer. I consider myself unqualified as I’ve only serviced my car with that dealer and had little interest to begin with. Yet, I hear that there is insane demand and people (like one of the posters above) are paying $50-$75k ADM to get one. It just seems very strange to me. Maybe it’s regional and the demand in CA is very different than the demand on the east coast. Or maybe Porsche is actually giving dealers more allocations than anticipated and people will be getting calls about their LOI’s soon. Nontheless, all helpful info for people who are interested in the most recent stance on allocations & ADM/cost to get one.
I also find it strange that people would look down upon me for recognizing (and questioning) an opportunity to build a new GT3, drive the car/enjoy for a bit, and sell it for a profit. To me logically that seems like a good deal that an ordinary person would take. But as enthusiasts who do not value the financial aspects of ownership as much, this makes sense.
FWIW, I am willing to lose some money on the car. As someone who hasn’t owned a GT3 it’s possible that I could become an enthusiast as I am for my 2S. I’m not buying a 991.2 for $40k over original MSRP. As much as I would kill for an Albert Blue 99.12 touring (also none even on the market, as Merit Partners auctioned the only one I knew of in an Instagram auction that fetched almost $250k for the car). I am simply questioning what’s happening in this market with ADM’s, perceived demand, and who is getting allocated and when.

If you're hoping to buy a 992 touring and make bank like the 991s I feel like you're going to waste your time and money. Every hustler out there probably thought the same thing and will be trying to do the same thing. I think you all would play yourselves. There are going to be some bag holders desperate to sell cars they bought well over MSRP and aren't able to sell and cover their costs methinks.

JFC - and we wonder why there's a problem with the GT3 market. This game has played out pretty poorly for speculators on the GT3 / RS and speedster last time out once demand ebbed - unless you're expecting a new pandemic and rates going negative, that will happen again. Meanwhile, I'm getting my name down for an EVO RWD which is in very high demand but no ADM for some reason...just an 8 month wait for delivery.

FYI, went to the dealer to clarify what he was offering me. What actually happened is that this spot for the second touring just happens to be available, for SALE for $25k. Not a $25k ADM. So I could pay $25k to be bumped up, and then pay $50k ADM. Plus the trade in for my car. That was the offer.
All makes sense now.

By the way, if you go for this deal, make sure he wears a condom.

Oh I should also mention - if I didn’t want to buy the spot, he said I can get an allocation by the end of 2024 / 2.5 years.

Race Car
The future of its holding its value is nice, but if the car was a dog nobody would want it. I want one because it looks like it'll be epic to drive on street, yes to the grocery store, on the highway, back roads, and track. I'll take a winged or a Touring. Either way.
