That thing is wide from the rear! Kind of menacing looks in Agate and the new embossed leather trim inside looks kind of cool. No backseat though, unfortunately... And manual versions not available in California for any of the GT3s for now.. That's a bummer too! (Hopefully it'll change once the regulations are updated.) No new items added to the package, same optional silver / black trim as before. What do we think about the new Touring package in general?

I don't understand the "scoop" or break light on top of the rear grill design wise. It's a bit of a miss and I would have expected it to disappear from the final design. The 991.2 Touring or 911R pure mesh grill looks so much more sleek and timeless. Yesterday, I was still ready to bet big money that they would retain that classic look on the 992 GT3T. I guess they had to "upgrade" something also looks wise.. Does that big %ss "clam shell" have any functionality, other than emitting red light when breaking? It doesn't look like it would operate as an additional air intake channel etc (like one could have expected)... I may be wrong though.
"However, on both GT3s, the do-it-yourself gearbox isn't available in California because of sound restrictions."
So the manual transmission is louder than the PDK? Double-reason to get the manual!!!
California is using outdated regs and punishing Porsche which presumably built the GT3 to modern regs. Typical government. Porsche is hoping CHP will update their regs. Don’t hold your breath.
Part of it may be that the manual is 6 speed and PDK is 7 speed. Maybe the engine wails harder with the 6 speed. If I was getting a GT3, I’d want to track it and I’d probably go PDK, but on a Touring that’s mostly street driven, the manual transmission would be my choice.
this is for new 992 GT3s only...soooooo, buy a used one and you are good. Correct? or ANY GT3 that is 22 and later with manual is no bueno?
this will result in 991 GT3s with manuals skyrocketing even more so....tourings will go insane.
WOW.... what a beauty. I wonder if the GTS will get that interior dash treatment or anything.... That truly is the perfect car... if I didn't have kids that needed to ride with me occasionally.
Slower on the street than a Carrera S. Far less comfortable — looks like the rumors of it having the same rough riding suspension as the regular GT3 are true. No back seats. The new GT3s are easily the most homely looking of the 992 variants.
Yes, 9K RPM is fun. On the street, making more torque starting at around 2500 RPM than the GT3 ever makes is more fun. The GT3 makes less horsepower than the Carrera S until around 5000 RPM.
Add in the spectacular ADM and there’s not much that excites me here.
Buy a new MT car from an out of state dealer and have it shipped. The chances that people in CA aren't going to have access to new MT GT3's is about zero.
