There is a global shortage of automotive electronics that's getting progressively worse - a perfect storm of chip manufacturers expecting no automotive demand for late 2020 and 2021 so committing to volumes elsewhere, and now getting hit by supply shortages, so that they cannot meet even those reduced plans. Some (e.g., Ford) are even slowing/stopping production. So delayed launches should not surprise anyone, and delayed availability is almost a given.
Also, the way things are going, we will have a shortage of new cars later this year, so do not rush to sell what you have just yet.
I would imagine that affects the RELEASE of the car or at least production of it, however would that also postpone the reveal? Unless they don't want to have too much of a gap between reveal and ramping up to full production.

I have to say if the car looks like that render it is one ugly duckling.
A bit of wrap around the Whale Shark mouth in front will soften that up some perhaps. Maybe there will be an option to paint the Whale Shark Mouth for an additional $2K?
We should know what it really looks like very soon. The wing looks very crude and industrial which works on the race car and maybe of the RS version. I expect a little more restraint and a smoother look in the regular gt3.
After what I went through with the reveal to order to delivery of my RS6 my expectations about reveals/timelines are now just a shrug of the shoulders. Excited none the less.
I have just been informed that there are production delays due to a slowdown in the parts supply because of c-19. I am a direct recipient of this because I have two cars on order and both have been pushed back two months. As a result, there may be some rolling delays in the release schedule going forward because they want to make sure they get the right spacing between announcement and start of production which is pretty much always two months. But having said that, the Base Taycan was announced right on schedule earlier this week so let’s see what happens next week.
