Would like to see a turn by turn speed comparison against the 991.2 GT3RS and 992 GT3. Might take some time and do that later.

in my view this tiny performance differential means Porsche put 99.8 % of the juice in the factory equipment package, the base car is hell of a good deal!
so if MR and the best professional driver nets 4 seconds better on the Ring, average driver on local track the difference is almost zip.....
use the 40 grand on tires and brake enhancements

To me it is with awe and excitement every time I see a new picture, looking for some hint or indication of what hides behind the next layer to come off. I know this will be one of the last combustion GTs and for me perhaps the last chance to enjoy the real sound and feel before the industry goes all Duracell. I couldnt be more excited and overjoyed.
What you seem to be looking for is a nicely specced Targa or Carrera.

No turn by turn speeds but I did put this together:
You can see that the 991.2 GT3RS MR has made it's hay throughout the lap's technical sections and carrying more speed on average than the 992 GT3 and 992 GT3MR. It is significantly down on acceleration above ~230kph leading to the assumption that drag is significantly higher on the 991.2 GT3RS MR vs the 992 GT3 or 992 GT3 MR since engine output is similar. Hopefully the 992 GT3RS will reap the benefits of both strategies as we all expect. Even higher cornering speeds and better acceleration than even the 992 GT3 MR.
For reference, the 991.2 GT3 was doing 231 at the Gantry, 256 at the round speed sign, 277 at the 3 sided red sign, and 281 at the bridge. So, basically the same as the 992 GT3 as far as top end acceleration goes. It did a 7:12.7 on the 20.6km lap. So, like a 7:16.xx on the full 20.832km lap.
Just goes to show how important the technical sections and corner speeds are for lap time. AVG speeds are high and you can make up significant seconds over the course of the lap by having better straight-line acceleration (ie. GT2RS vs. GT3RS) but the real difference makers IMO are lateral acceleration, stability, and braking.
After all, the 992 GT3 MR made up >4 seconds vs. the 992 GT3 via brake pads, 4 way dampers, a bit more downforce yet not so much that drag slowed it down any. It actually had better top end acceleration (probably due to lighter wheels and drag reducing wheel discs).

Can I ask whats the big deal about 'launch color' ? Are those more plentiful? Why not just still pick the color YOU want, vs the color Porsche picks to launch a car? Seems to be a number of posts on this, and I'm just trying to understand how it plays a part in the over all lifecycle/ordering of the car? Thanks!
