The problem with the new 315/30/21 rear tires is that gearing will be 5% taller, unless they adjust the transmission final drive ratio to offset that change.
Hope they don’t overlook the Manual in that respect.

Would be great if the 992 Touring version of the GT3 had that little duck tail, instead of a stupid pop-up spoiler.

Sole transmission (according to this article) will initially be the 8-speed dual-clutch unit: https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...py-shots-video
IF that is the final version of the hood, I really dig it!

that rear end has some high-stakes aero trickery going on - see the little air slits in the rear ducktail? Combined with the front end ducting I bet this thing has 15-20% more downforce than last version.
And with an 8-speed tranny I think you're looking at ~ 203-205 mph top speed.

The advantage of a 8spd PDK (assuming it's not done for better fuel economy, lower emissions, or lower noise) is that it should arrive at its top speed more quickly (packing 8 ratios in the same speed range will allow fewer revs to be lost on upshifts and stay closer to the peak power on average).

The gearing of the previous 6spd Manual and 7spd PDK-S was already optimal for top speed (Manual slightly faster than the PDK version). The 8speed PDK will do nothing to improve that (actually, PDK cars are typically 1-2mph slower than Manuals due to more power wasted as heat in the wet clutches). To get to 205 mph (particularly with PDK), that's going to require significantly less aero drag or significantly more power (or both).

In Germany, they are pretty serious about top speed (on the Autobahn and Nürburgring). Porsche never short changes Vmax for acceleration or other priorities in its GT cars (so far).
I’ve seen some pretty big numbers during Euro Delivery (but never starting with a “2” in mph or even “3” in kph, though I know some folks on this board who have).
When I had a new 991.2 Turbo as a loaner from Porsche in Leipzig with just a few km on it, the trip computer was showing 325kph as top speed from the previous driver.

At 520-530 hp hopefully in the next GT3, I'll be looking forward to the top speed report. If they can keep the drag coefficient the same, and add power, keep weight the same, hope they can at least breach 200 mph. I'm hoping for 203 mph but I'm an optimist.

During ED I touched 275 but it was how light the car started feeling which caused me to back down... possibly due to the loaner winter tires.
