Great pics @AllAboutThatP . These Autocar pics are the best look at the front end that we've gotten. Hood kind of appears to be a different material. CF?
I am securely planted on the hype train as well. Here are a few more from the article, highlighting the front end...

I really like the front grill. One thing I noticed is the front splitter is flat all the way across. I like how it looks better, however it’s going to make it a little less forgiving than the 991, making FAL a must IMO.

I passed on a perfectly specced pre-owned 991.2 GT3 because I wanted to see what they’d come up with for the 992 first.

So glad I decided to wait: the new headlight design looks much nicer (I dislike the look of the “rings” on the 991.2 LEDs), new S-ducts are looking great from what we can see, the RS style hood is awesome, & swan-neck spoiler looks delicious. I could go on, but all these little improvements (in my opinion) are making it a nice improvement over the 991.2. Cant wait until it’s officially revealed and we get to find out the performance improvements as well.

Ah crap, I’m fully aboard the hype train now hahaha

Edit: Forgot to mention how nice the new wheels look as well, very BBS FI-R like which I’m a fan of.
So true, beauty in the eye of the beholder. Never liked my 991.1 GT3 due to rear wing, much prefered the conservative approach I have with my Touring while still retaining the motorsports performance.

Stay safe and healthy!

i can't figure out if the rear air-intake is right at the base of the windshield, or at the base of the ducktail?

Looks to me like it's where the current ram-air one is below the rear window, but doesn't have the large black ducting over it (has strakes similar to the under-car diffuser). Visible in this Rennteam photo:

um...that makes me more happy to keep my 991.2 GT3.
i will pass 992.1 GT3/RS and wait until 992.2 comes out.
im glad that they still keep manual.

Not sure if it's what you're referring to, but I think that centered lateral line at the base of the windshield is the third brake light. If so, I much prefer it to the vertical third brake light the other 992s have.

The strakes appear to curve down directing air into a horizontal intake vent just under the wing a bit like the 997 GT3 RS air intake.

The exhaust seems too small, in a so fat *** 992.
Perhaps because we are used to have them bigger in carrera and turbos. There is a proportion issue somewhere.

Am I the only one who sees the front hood and thinks “anteater”? It’s a complexly shaped part, so that’s almost certainly final production spec (additional evidence in favor of this conclusion is the tape over the badge).

Another thing that’s not quite right to me is the placement of the swan neck on the rear. The supports are so far inboard to place the wing within the envelope of the rear bumper (i.e., not further out like the race cars).
