I saw it a couple of times in Europe and actually like it. Pictures are not always the best way to judge design.

Regardless of the brand, I see this every time a new gen is coming to market. Those owning the current gen, 991.1 and 991.2 in this case, bashing the aesthetics/performance/futurism of the new car. No one who owns the current gen wants the new gen to be better, otherwise they'd have to find a reason not to spend the money. I remember when the first 991s came out and all the 997 owners were bashing the hell out of them, now they're one of the most coveted and liked gens of the 911.

How can those who are prematurely bashing the 992 GT cars even know what they're going to look like? We can surely make educated guesses but until the car is released, I'll reserve my judgment. The 992.1 GT3 could end up being one of the best GT road cars Porsche ever makes, or the worst, but I don't understand how anyone in here can know that at this stage.

I probably am in the minority but I think the front end on the 991.2 is better looking than the 992 pictured .
I guess the good news is a lot of people will want the latest model and I will have more possible used 991.2 gt3’s to pick from 😂

are you really arguing that a lot of people won’t go from their current gt3 991.1/991.2 and replace it with the new 992 gt3 ???

Bold statement considering the 992 GT cars are yet to even be announced or seen!

The first statement is an opinion and absolutely acceptable, the second part intrigues me. Apparently you are an authority and you are able to predict future Porsche sales and customer behavior. Perhaps you can also predict the stock market in these turbulant times?

i think Alex is correct.

There won’t be as many moving from a 991 GT3 to a 992.1 GT3 this time around, for several reasons.

1. There won’t be a huge leap forward with the engine. 992.1 GT3 will just get the 991.2 RS engine. Not that much of difference since the .2 RS engine is just the 991.2 GT3 engine with software modifications. Both are true race derived car engines, built for reliability. (Compared to 991.1 GT3 engine)
2. Unlikely to be huge difference in performance you can actually notice.
3. These cars don’t hold their value as well as before, so discouraging both speculators from entering the market, and the casual owners who thought they could drive a GT3 1-2 years for free.
4. No huge leap forward in internal electronics/ infotainment.
5. Manual/PDK-S and Touring options all already exist in 991.2 generation
6. Car uglier than before (subjective of course)

It's difficult to agree with this statement when you look at the transition from the 997.2 to the 991.1 GT3. There was actually quite a bit of backlash from the GT community about Porsche ditching the highly coveted Mezger powerplant. There also wasn't a huge leap forward in power between them, 3.8L 435bhp vs 3.8L 475bhp...point being, a drastic powerplant change is not historically attractive to Porsche GT enthusiasts, nor do they expect a massive increase in power from gen to gen.

Highly speculative, and if I were a betting man I would take that bet. But time will tell, no point in speculating yet

Educated guess would be that whichever gen is the last truly naturally aspirated powerplant (not a hybrid assist) will do well with long-term value. Whether that's the 992.1 or 992.2. I can't see a 991.2 GT3 holding better long-term value over a 992 GT3 if the latter is the last of the NA, and still offers a manual trans.

Have you seen the 992?!? The leap from the 991 to the 992 may be the largest leap of any gen to gen in this category

Trying to see how that's not a positive for the 992s as opposed to a negative as you seem to be implying

Subjective as you say...the 991.2 is such a beautiful car. But the comparison of the 991.2 and the 992.1 cannot be made until they actually release the 992.1 GT3....sort of tough to compare 2 things when 1 of the 2 doesn't even exist yet
