For me, the performance gains (whatever they might be) in the 992 are not worth it for me to upgrade. I will never, ever push my Touring to its limits. Also, the exterior and interior of the 992 Carrera (on which the Touring will be based) does nothing for me. I don't like the squared off hood, the awkward rear, the side view mirrors, the door handles, the overly digital interior, etc. The 991.2 GT3 has, for me, the perfect balance of analog and digital in the interior and it preserves the classic lines of 911s of yesteryear. Good luck in your search for a Touring!
Thank you for providing your thoughts and insight! I agree with you, this car will certainly remain the most desirable of the 911.2 GT3s. People rightfully adore them.

And you are right on about the balance of analog and digital that the GT3T was able to achieve. It is, perhaps, the classiest modern Porsche I have seen in the flesh.

Additionally, thank you for your good luck wishes in my search! I hope to join the Touring club sooner rather than later!

I’ll be waiting for the 992.2 GT3.

Marantz, it sounds like you and I are in a similar position where a 992 GT3 purchase is a big decision and a car that we would keep a long time. The issue to me is not people wondering about values. It is that many (most) GT threads wander off topic because people bring up values. This thread for example is supposed to be for pictures and videos and to share excitement about the upcoming car. I think a single separate value thread is a good thing. However every GT3 thread morphing into a value thread, when nobody actually knows the future, is frustrating. Without having specs or much to go on at this point, there really isn't a ton to talk about other than to speculate, so I understand how this happens. Not trying to be harsh, that's just the way I see it. I'm glad you are here, and hope that you end up behind the wheel of your dream car. Cheers!

The 991.2 GT3T are really special cars, with the perfect balance of analog/digital coupled with a really special race derived engine and track influenced suspension. I briefly owned one, but I have a chronic leg injury that requires I drive a PDK.

I don't think the 992.1 GT3T will be anywhere near as desirable as the 991.2 GT3T as the 992.1 GT3T will look far worse with the ugly rear and overly digital interior

If I had my heart set on a buying a new custom ordered GT3T to own for a long time, I would definitely skip the 992.1 GT3T and look toward the 992.2 GT3T, which might get a 4.2L engine, and hopefully the mid cycle refresh will tone down the rear styling.

Did you buy your 991.2 GT3 as an investment?

That is what people used to say said about the 964 bumpers (or enter any other historical 911 gripe here) and yet we will all fall in love again.

Remember that Queen song?
"Get on your bikes and ride
Ooh yeah, oh yeah, them fat bottomed girls
Fat bottomed girls
Yeah yeah yeah
Alright, ride 'em, c'mon
Fat bottomed girls, yes yes"

Hahaha

There is clearly cladding disguising the bumper cover; in addition to the square area for the license plate, it is cut away to allow for the parking sensors and lower reflectors.

Isnt that 992 rear bumper taller and then squared stretched because coming 992 hybrid needed some additional space to be hosted?
