Default Are painted headlight washers no longer avail?

Greetings all - went in last night to finalize our MY18 C4S build, didn't see the option to paint the headlight washers anymore. Did it go away with 2018? Opting for LED headlights in black, so in my mind the washers needed to go body color.

Insight appreciated.

If they are gone, you can always buy painted ones from Eric at www.bumperplugs.

Looks like configurator is only allowing this on the Turbo and GTS models.

I bet your dealer could do something through Porsche Exclusive to make it happen. Alternatively, like LexVan mentioned, order it from aftermarket.

Weird.

I added mine to my build of my C4 about 6 weeks ago. It was the only option left that I really needed to make it look like a GTS. The next day, PCNA removed the option from the configurator. Coincidence?

Because I am doing European delivery, the dealer couldn't unlock it so PCNA had to do it directly with PAG.

I think they removed it due to the inefficient system they use of removing the front bumper again during "CT" just to install the painted nozzles.

What is CT?

Bumper removal is not necessary.

CT is the exclusive option during the build process. I don't think Porsche puts the painted nozzle on the assembly line but installs them after it has come off the line and enters the exclusive option. I may be wrong but check out this thread in post 7 he goes in detail about this.

Porsche wants to differentiate the GTS from the other models.

It's marketing, nothing to do with manufacturing if this is indeed true they dropped the option.

It's so strange that they will allow you to get the Sportdesign body kit and the Powerkit, but not allow you the painted washers, of all things.

What's sad is that I could see how being denied this option would bother me.

Porsche psychological warfare. Devious, evil bastards.

So I just had my Exclusive consult yesterday at PEC Atlanta. I inquired about the headlight washers. The answer I was given is that they are being phased out of the North American market, and the configurator simply hasn't been updated with a new vehicle image.

thanks for the update but did they give a reason why it's being phased out?

Honestly I didn't ask. I had so much ground to cover working on my build on very limited time.

Meaning the washers themselves are being phased out? Good call.
