How does one get a 3 month layup? Who's watching and what if you drove it 1 time to take it in for service and had an issue. Would they cover you?

That is nuts. I pay about that to insure five cars with max limits on everything. My two Porsches cost me less than $1,500 a year for both.
Yeah, its insane. I am actually looking for a new carrier.

Although not in the highest risk age category, being 34, single, male and with fines/citations probably puts me in a very high risk category.

I wanted to increase my coverage to 500/1M put the premium was just so outrageous I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Painful!

In retrospect I am not happy with my stupidly for a 30 year relationship with USAA because I believed they were the best and too lazy to shop prices and deal with insurance agents.
Oh ****, well I am definitely going shopping - I have USAA too! My family has told me it's the best you can get because of some military requirement, seems I was misinformed.

Here's my true story on valuation. I custom ordered a Boxster S, new in 2000. It cost me $64.5k out the door. It was a garage queen, kept pampered and covered and used only for special driveson nice days. Then in 2005, Hurricane Katrina totaled it, along with my pickup truck and my new-to-me boat, and our home. I had stated value on the boat, and got a check for what I paid for it. I made $3k on the Nissan Frontier pickup, even though it was 2 years old, because I had bought a dealer come-on special for the "bait & switch game" they play, that was underpriced. Bur for my virtually new Boxster S with 5900 miles on it, I got a check for only $36k and change from State Farm. Im still unhappy about that.
So now I'm driving a garage queen Porsche again - a well optioned CPO 2015 C2S 2-1/2 years old with 7400 miles on it. From what i see, it has held its value since I bought it in June 2016. So I'm starting to think it might underinsured, without stated value insurance on it. So I'm going to check my AAA insurance coverage and start looking around if I don't get a decent stated value policy from them.

look at Metromile per mile insurance. It's base rate plus a mileage charge. Can be a super deal unless you area high mileage driver.
