What do you pay for Insurance
#62
My wife and I are 72 and have maximum coverage with AAA insurance, along with our home and an umbrella liability policy, with combo policy discounts. I pay it all by the year and its just over $800/year for my 2015 C2S with $500 deductibles and a decent uninsured motorist coverage. That's for no commuting, 5000 miles/year, pleasure only. I pay about the same annual rate for my wife's 2015 RX350, no commuting, 10,000 miles/year, pleasure only. Both cars are garaged. Clean licenses and no claims, and credit scores >825.
I am a AAA Plus member (100 miles free flatbed towing to my Coen location), three might be a discount for that. Then I pay the entire annual bill with a credit card that gives me a 2% cash rebate. My 911 is now 31 months old with 7400 miles, so I'm starting to think about getting a policy for agreed value pretty soon, so I don't lose if the car were somehow totaled. I think they are probably depreciating it at a faster value than actual, so need to investigate that...

What do folks pay for insurance for their 991?
For my C2S cabriolet Allstate is quoting me $996 for 6 months, which seems very expensive to me. Especially since we have only 2 drivers and 4 cars and I told them I would drive this one only around 5k miles/year.
We have good driver discounts, multiple policies, no accidents on our records, etc.
They claim that repair costs are high on this vehicle, but still $2k a year???
Who do you use and how much do you pay?

Actually there are so many variables, that it's pointless to list rates. For example a couple of guys I worked with had clean driving records, drove the same model car, and had identical insurance coverage from the same Insurance company. Yet, one guy paid 20% more for his insurance than another. The reason was that one guy lived within the confines of the city and the other lived in the county. The guy who lived in the city was within one block of the county line. When he questioned the Insurance company about his high rates, they stated that their rates were determined by zip code.

Edmunds - State Farm - Named Value
I just looked on state farm and mine is Vehicle premium $461.27 / 6 mos
They have a button that says "appraise vehicle" and Edmunds puts my 2012.5 S with 6K miles PSE, etc, ect at 58K. That would be one hell of a loss if it was totaled under actual value. Thinking I need to look for a named value policy like I had on my 964. Anyone else had a bad valuation in an accident or something ? 58K seems crazy.

I'm curious though, how much do you think your car is worth ?
Because I paid 60 for mine, so your 58 for a slightly older car (albeit with less miles) sounds pretty fair to me...
Agreed value policies are generally for classic cars, if that's your daily and they agree to it, your rate might climb quite a bit... Just curious, I'm not debating the valuation, maybe you have 20K in options under "etc" ;-)

Valuation
I'm curious though, how much do you think your car is worth ?
I paid 75k at a Porsche dealership CPO 3 months ago after looking for 6th months. I called and put a deposit on it the day it went on sale. They were asking 78. The slimy sales guy actually tried to back out of the deal at one point and said he had 3 people in line (which I'm sure he says to everyone). I will say that price seems in line for what I was seeing for a C2S MT sport chrono low milage car (under 10k) I still have not seen a similar build. I would expect to replace would be 75 to 78k if you could find one but I have not seen another.
