dumb question to those who got this to work...
what happens with the existing stalk if you have a non-MF wheel?
do you remove it, or leave it? And if you leave it, will it still work?

Upgraded some 991.1 and 981 from sport style wheel to MF wheel,no coding needed, MF stalk works. All owner keep MF stalk.

Where is the best place to get the steering wheel. I just want to go from non-MFA 991.1 to non-MFA 991.2.
thanks

Suncoast or Sunset may be your best bet. Sunset has a selection but seems limited. Might have to call them to make sure.

i got the mf controls and heating to work with the gpsadapter module. Getting the heating to work is not an easy task as you have to remove and replace really really tiny resistors, I would give it a 9/10 difficulty if you have never worked with soldering. the mf stalk still works along with the mf controls on the steering wheel. Another plus is that the sportmode lights also light up on the steering wheel when you press em on the center console but you cant change the mode or press the button on the dial

this is good to know, because I was also curious if the SC **** has any function by itself or is just reactive to the mode selected on the center console. With the limited functionality though I might just consider getting the steering wheel without the SC ****.

This is awesome. I'd do it just for the heated steering wheel part. Everything else is just a bonus! I solder miniature surface mount components onto pc boards all the time. What exactly is involved in the heated steering wheel conversion? And I assume that has to be coded if one didn't have a heated steering wheel originally.

Thanks. Looks like there are a few options for the clockspring on ebay. Gonna end up being an expensive project if I do it.

Thanks for the detailed instructions

Just to give everyone an idea of how small these things are:

Rear bottom piece of steering wheel where heating switch is located

heating switch removed from steering wheel housing

Porsche key for comparison to resistor size
