Two words come to mind: "IMS Bearing".

Google it.

As we don't have access to Fidelity here in Canada I will have some serious thinking to do before CPO runs out...

Maybe a manual 992 might be in the cards but I really like the PDK.

Great price, your car must still have low miles. Mine is a '13 that had 42k when I purchased my contract.

yeah apparently the miles is what makes the diff in price (not so much in years of the vehicles....which makes sense)

that's also the only reason why i am getting a warranty after my CPO expires in 2020. I have a 2012.5 with 29k miles on it now

this happened to me as well around 30k miles. It was an 18k repair that was covered under warranty. The new PDK seemed alot snappier and have not had any issue since.

What was the cost if not covered?
My 991.1 7 manual replacement under PCNA warranty was $17.5k for the tranny in the crate, and my recollection is something like $4k for labor and misc.

As expected, the same issues occurred again about a year after the valve body replacement. New transmission is on the way. Hopefully this fixes it once and for all.

Nearly identical thing as OP just happened to me, definitely got warnings #1 and #3, don't recall if #2. After a engine off and on was able to drive home normally. This seems very suspicious as having happened just a couple of weeks after a transmission fluid replacement. Extremely bummed that is looks like a PDK replacement. I'm at about 65k miles in a 2012 C2S, no warranty.

Surprised this thread has been dead since 2019. Maybe topic has/is being discussed elsewhere in the forum?

I am sorry that you are experiencing similar issue.

PDK issues have been extremely rare and I assume that is one reason this thread has been dead since 2019. I chuckled at the comment above about IMS bearing, regardless of how many PDK issues there may be on this forum or overall, it's not even 1/100th of the same as the IMS fiasco. ALL automatic transmissions have a failure rate, given that PDK has been around since late 2008, the failure rate has been better than most manufacturers. I know for sure that BMWs dual clutch transmission is/was a nightmare for several years.

This last statement is of NO help, but when I did have a PDK car in my stable, in spite of the low risk of failure, I had the risk leveraged by an aftermarket warranty.
Hope you are able to find a workable solution and repair.

There are several shops around the country that are now repairing PDKs using a part sold by a third party.

Here is my experience with PDK issue.

https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1254...-question.html

You will find multiple threads when you do a search on google on different forums.ask me how I know. If it is a sensor issue then that can be fixed for approx 5k vs a new transmission.

Did you run the codes on your car?
