991.2 Powerkit Released
"Annoyed by the fact that your neighbor's 911 GTS has 30 horsepower more than your Carrera S, Carrera 4S or Targa 4S? No problem! Starting now, Porsche will happily fit larger turbochargers, the Sport Chrono package (including dynamic engine mounts), a modified brake cooling system and a sports exhaust system with two central tailpipes to brand-new base-model 911s. It all adds up to a max output of 450 horsepower, and all those extra 30 Stuttgart horses can be yours for just $11,000!....."

Coming to a dealer near you in July, 2017. 450 HP from a Carrera. Wow!
The Powerkit has always been an interesting option. The 997.2 and 991 are some of the highest specific output atmospheric engines made if I'm not mistaken.

Old news but thanks for posting about it anyway. The subject will never get "old"
Yeah....and they never will. What would happen to the S if they offered the powerkit on a Base for $11,000. lol

Honestly, I'll admit I'm an old fart, but I find my new S has power I'll never fully tap unless I'm on a track. In fact if I had found a base model with my goodies, I would have purchased it instead.

I think if we pushed our cars to their limits there would be more totalled pcars out there, including many mine. I agree with 4pipes. Thanks for sharing!

Unfortunately, today's configurator for 2018 MY doesn't allow the combination of the powerkit and sport chrono. Although the description of the powerkit says it includes sport chrono, it really isn't there in the result.

That has to be a glitch, I would bet. Call your SA or GM to verify. When I added the Powerkit package to my Targa 4S build, there was a problem on the Configurator but the build sheet showed everything that should be there.
