Default ...how about this C2S? (Still trying to find my first Porsche)

So this car is a bit scarier, it's just out of warranty and the dealer has no records on service- nor is there anything on Carmax.

Help me Rennlist- you're my only hope.

http://www.grandprimotors.com/detail...nd-OR/17451808

Build sheet:

I'm working with them on price. Thoughts?

Obviously, a 3rd party warranty would be advisable or potentially getting the car CPO'd by a local dealer- though I'm not sure how that goes about happening.

Any help is appreciated.

// EDIT

Also, I can't post to my other thread anymore- something about Admin approval being needed?

Too much. My cab was same year, had higher MSRP, and was CPO for similar money.

IMO, I'd stick with the CPO if I were you.

I know, but I'm in love with the paint/leather combo... Would $62k make for a compelling case to buy?

$62k would be a much better deal, car seems to be in great condition for the mileage
I like the full red interior as well

A good report on a dealer PPI would be good enough for me.

OP - FWIW, back in October I bought the same year vehicle, almost identically optioned minus the PDK, but with 24k miles for $67000.00, so if you could grab that one for $62k I'd say it's a fair deal so long as the PPI comes back clean. Good luck!

If that's not a Porsche dealer they cannot CPO the vehicle. I would get an independent inspection of the vehicle and some form of warranty is probably a good idea. I agree $62k would be a great deal on that car provided everything is ok.

Nice car good luck!!

A full on PPI would be the biggest thing I'd need before pulling the trigger.

Can anyone recommend a dealership up in Portland?

Anyone have any experience with having a dealership buy a car and then CPO it?

Thanks guys.

You don't want to do that. They will charge a fee IF they would ever agree, which I doubt they would. Just think of the logistical hassle and legal commitments that would need to be engineered (what if they bought it and then you pulled out etc).

You don't need a dealer for a PPI - just a trusted garage. Then get a decent 3rd party warranty.

Noted.

I've got Kurt at Marque Motors up in Portland planning on taking a look at the car for the PPI.

Going to try and find a contact in the Fidelity thread for a 3rd party warranty:

If anyone has any direct contacts; I'm all ears!

Wow, that is a RED interior!!

Milwaukie Speed Sports on SE McLoughlin has/had a couple of Porsche-trained mechanics. I've bought one vehicle from them and sold them one vehicle. They are good guys, and can probably thoroughly check over the car for you.

Sunset Porsche in Beaverton are good, too -- I've felt well-treated there as well. Of course, Porsche pricing applies, but I think their techs are also good.

Marque motors in Johns Landing services Porsches also, although I have no first hand experience with them, just heard good things.

Glad there's a good report coming out for Marque.

I called Sunset- they don't PPI.

Keep your fingers crossed guys- this might be *the* one. (my wife will be thrilled- that I stop obsessing on which one to buy)

I feel like you're being a little optimistic with that offer for $62k.. If they're asking $74k, do you really expect a 16% discount? I hope you can work something out though, beautiful car.

On a sidenote, my CPO 2013 991 C2S last year had 42k miles and was $69k if that helps at all.

I considered this car, indeed a beautiful bold silver/red. Nice options SPASM+PDCC. The red is not for everyone and will impact resale a little. The car had an empty carfax. Grand Prix motors said they bought it from Porsche Lease. I seriously doubt they will let that car go for less than 70k. Prices in the Pacific Northwest are among the highest in the US.
