Not that the C4s is slow (it is not), but the Turbo is impractically and stupidly violent in it's power, but still completely drivable. I find that intriguing.
Sounds like you've answered your own question. Enjoy the Turbo.

This is what I was thinking too!

This is an emotional purchase. A 10% premium on an unnecessary $150k purchase is not a huge difference. Buying the unnecessary item in the first place is the huge thing. Since the turbo is the one that speaks to you, get it!

And if if you want to be sensible, go CPO TT/TTS. Lots of folks buy these as garage ornaments and the sell them when the newer one comes in.

So, if power is priority instead of handling and comfort options, then why did you even consider the C4S in the first place? If, you're going to equip a C4S close to $160G but would be satisfied with a base Turbo, then you didn't need to option the C4S close to $160G. Perhaps your decision is driven by budget first, and then desire.

In that case, if you know you have ~$160G to spend, go with your desire. As others have pointed out, you have already made your decision.

This is a perfect example of Porsche's pricing and model strategy. The next model "up" has many of the popular options for the model immediately "below," so that you are sorely tempted to take the next model up rather than a heavily optioned "lower" model. Plus, you then get things not found on the "lower" model, such as here, more HP and a different body.

This can result in an odd paradox, as in the case of the Turbo and Turbo S. The Turbo is more affordable as a new car but the Turbo S is a much better value as a used car since it will have most of what is optional on the Turbo, and then some. But if that's true, why aren't there more used Turbos than Turbo S's? In fact, it seems there are way more Turbo S's in the market than Turbos.

As with most irrational purchases, things take a life of their own and the budget tends to inflate.

I am going on a limb and say C4S looks better than a turbo. Something about that wing is just NOT sexy... and those turbo wheels, not a fan.

Beautiful...That's what I'm talking about!

I'm going with Jet black metallic with black PDLS+. It's hard to argue against a black Turbo.

Some guy at Porsche's marketing department is getting a big bonus next year.
Just like the seamless power delivery of a PDK transmission, they smoothly drag you up. You start with a base model because "at 89k it's doable". And every little thing "is only a little bit more, but you really need to have that one thing". Before you know it, they drop the bass.

Try to drive both on the same day. The difference in character becomes apparent when you jump in and out of seats.

Something else to consider: the GTS is coming out soon, and might be better value than the well optioned S.

The Turbo is stupid fast, as you said. However, nothing accelerates like a Tesla. NOTHING!

haha...it's so true. When I was configuring the S, there are subtle things that they do with their packages, etc. that kick the can down the road. I think they are evil geniuses or something.

GTS is always a good value with good resale, for sure.

These are .1's

.2 to .2, the REAL TURBO looks more aggressive. The rear spoiler looks sweet too.

That's what I've been saying. Although, the Turbo S comes close. This is why I don't need a Turbo or Turbo S. C4S will be my fun car while my Model S P90D is my show off car.
