Thanks for the advice. The inservice date was 1/10/17. 9000 miles seems like a lot for 3 months. It must have been a service loaner car. People probably drove it like they stole it. I'll probably have to get an independent PPI if I go for it.

I would definitely get it CPO and negotiate the price. Typically 2-3 yr old vehicles have 9k mileage.

I think that low is for garage queen cars. I intend to make mine a DD, although my commute is only 1.5 miles each way .

Default Price is too high IMO

In January, I purchased a CPO 2017 with 1,700 miles, 5.5 years of warranty with sticker of $128.5K at 15% off MSRP.

Hi, thanks for feedback. Seems 5-7% discount at new is possible, so for used at close to same doesn't make sense. Dealer would seem to arrive at same conclusion, but i guess you can ask. So for used, do you think 15-20% reasonable/likely to counter?

Default Offers can be whatever you want

The ideal use of an offer is to hopefully find bottom, or close to it. If you remove emotion and treat it as a business transaction, it helps. It is simply a business transaction to the dealer. Private party sales is a different story.

My opinion would be to set a price (in your own mind) that you do not want to exceed. Make an offer below that price with room to move up. You can not lower your initial offer unless you get pissed, but now you have made it emotional.

If you do not get a counter, then you are in a position where you negotiate with yourself or move on. If you get a counter, you have their interest and gauge your next offer accordingly. The ideal situation is where you place yourself in a position (mentally) to walk whenever you want to remove yourself from the deal.

Everyone usually develops their own strategy for their own reasons but I have used the above over many transactions. Some worked, some didn't.

To your specific question, considering the time of year, the market and availability and what I believe to be the impact of a one year depreciation estimate, 15% to 17% should be a fair starting point. If this car is not a CPO and it is important to you, I believe the cost to the dealer is $3k to $3.5k so you will need to factor that into your offer scenario.

Best of luck

Does it come with CPO? If not, ask them to throw it in. Worth a try.

Good luck and nice build.

I talked to them last week when it was $1k higher and not a CPO. Submitted an offer to get it at $111,750 as a CPO. They politely told me "I understand if you need to go elsewhere" and reminded me it wasn't a CPO. Noticed today that they had just CPO'ed it in the last day or two. My HFS.2 senses are spot on. You'll love it and good price at 15.x% off MSRP. I was reconsidering it at your price with CPO but saw this.

I recently drove a '14 C2S and then jumped directly into a '17 C2.... left zero doubt which model I want. This weekend I will be driving a '17 C2 and C2S back to back to make my final choice.

Ask for pics of the PPF ... I was told "x-Pel clear coating done to the font bumper and hood when it was purchased new."
