At the $101.5K asking price, that's only 18% off sticker. Seeing as leftover brand-new 2017's went for ~10% off, I'd say not enough discount for a $10K mile school car, even if it turns out to be in awesome shape.

At a 25% discount, (~$93K), if it is in cosmetically superb shape, full CPO, no 3/4/5 overrevs*, and a build/color you like, that IMHO would be a more tempting price.

*I'm not a big overrev doom-sayer, but if this really was a 'master the manual', I absolutely would request an overrev report before even considering the car...

I believe they possibly wipe the ECU on these. Not 100% positive.

That is so very uncool if they do... And possibly illegal? I sure hope that is not the case.

Experts, what do you think about this deal for a 2017 Carrera Base for $78,989? They seem to sell around this $80k mark in San Francisco Area.

Wish one had Sport Chrono Package..

Nice looking car and nicely optioned with the exception of the aforementioned missing sport chrono. The only red flag would be the former rental part, but if passes an in-depth PPI and it's what you're looking for....GL.

Heya Guys..

Need someone advice on purchase.. I've been on the hunting for a 991s or 991.2 base *manual* with SC love the rev-match.

I am working on a new 991.2 base, which has about 130 miles, seems kinda high from just test drives, but warranty not punched.

MSRP was ~100k: most notably has SC, PSE! But overall light build. Can get it for 85k or 15%..

I live in Cali and car is out will be an additional 1,800k for shipping!

What do you guys think? Is it something to jump on.. Ideally wouldn't mind CPO with around 25% but manual's are far and few between.. well ya know!

Assume it's a 2017 not a 2018? Not that there's much difference in cars, but definitely a difference in discounts.. 15% discount sounds decent for a new (but one model year old 2017 vs 2018), warranty unpunched car if it's exactly what your looking for... If it's got options you don't like or wouldn't order, or is missing options you really do want, or it's a color your not in love with, 15% isn't enough to buy a car that isn't right.

Also, $1,800 seems high for shipping, unless it's all the way across the country. And essentially takes a big bite out of the discount you are getting vs. a local car.

I too am thinking of a base .2 manual, and your right, not easy to find. 90%+ are ordered with PDK according to my local dealer. On the upside, another few months and we should start seeing the first of the two-year lease 991.2's come off lease, not that I expect of base manuals even then.

At 15% off for a new 991.2 and full warranty that ticks the right boxes for you, I wouldn't hesitate.

Looking at this car. Was a launch vehicle, shows 2 owner, but kind of hard to tell what the real history was. Unfortunately not local, so cant see the car in person.

Has pretty much all the options I want, and I guess with a good PPI and the existing factory warranty... Maybe an additional 6% of asking price?

I drove one of these extensively on a test-drive. It was very, very well prepped if it was a school car. And the gearbox didn't exhibit any obvious signs of abuse. If it's CPO why not if the price is right ?

They aren’t budging on price on that within about $500. I know because I’ve been watching it for nearly three months. Had a friend check it out and he said there is some severe cosmetic TLC needed.

Interesting. They sent me high res photos and it looked pretty clean. But tough with black to tell really. What were the severe cosmetic issues it had?

Pretty car, and good $ off original price, though I'd probably make a different choice on a used $115K 991. Great example of why loading up a non-special model is disastrous for depreciation...

i looked at this car in person , it’s beautiful. The only thing I didn’t like was the painted interior. It was a little outside of my price range or I would have jumped on it.
