Default 991.2 at Top Speed

According to Porsche, the 991.2 Carrera S maxes out at 190MPH. In four months of ownership, I haven't had a chance to cross 120. How many owners here have actually touched the top speed of their 911?

Some of the roads in India would be great for this but most I've been on would scare me to death to go thos speeds.

In the US, even track duty won't net those speeds.... hopefully someone from Europe or an American "driving in Mexico" can chime in?

Those speeds are worthless and marketing purposes only...

I rented a 991 C4S in Germany a couple of years ago. I hit 265 kph on one of the unlimited speed sections of the Autobahn south of Stuttgart (with the top down!). That was a bit of a white knuckle experience! That's the fastest that I've been.

I've seen 165 twice as indicated by the speedometer. The car is completly stable and still pulling when my nerve gives out.

How long of a straight would this take?
I would venture a guess that you are going to need at least a few miles.

110mph for me. I'll save the 125+ for a track.

I mentioned this in another thread. I realized it is a world car but I'd prefer a top speed of about 150 (I'd never see that either) in order to get an even quicker 0-30 0-60 and 0-100.

Funny you should mention this. I plotted a graph from a 0 - top speed of a 981 and integrated time to get distance. It takes about 2 miles for a 981 Boxster BS. 911 probably about the same distance since higher top speed but more HP to offset. Speed increase tapers off as you approach the limit of course so you need a lot of distance. I went through this exercise because I wanted to get to the top speed during my European Delivery and needed to pick a spot on the autobahn that had straight aways that long. Graph is below. Sorry about the crappy screen shot. (The last forum deleted the image)

I only got to 160 mph. You can hear my wife screaming at me at the end to slow down..... Cars I am passing are going about 80 - 100 mph. Video starts off at about 125 mph.

Hit 196 mph+ (315 kph) on Autobahn 8 from Munich coming home to Stuttgart in the 991.1 w/powerkit. Quick glance at the tach showed about 100-150 rpm left to the bottom of the red arc. Smooth and stable...and the non-ceramic brakes are phenomenal...used them to almost ABS threshold a few times.
