I certainly agree with this... don't let any of this influence your decision on the car itself. But once you know you have the right car and right price, it doesn't hurt to grab any extra goodies left sitting on the table. But point taken, let's concentrate on the car first and foremost!

I had the same question. Is it a true 2nd CPO....I thought if resold through a P dealer, the original CPO just flowed to the next owner. Or are they offering up the new Porsche branded after market extended warranty that was posted a few weeks back, which is likely underwritten by an insurance company. Not sure what is exactly covered on that, and what exactly needs to be done to the car to make it qualify, so there could be difference between that and what all of us know as a true CPO warranty.

Might be worth asking to be sure, as the value of the "2nd CPO" only gets you less than the remaining 2 years, right???...and for $3K, if the branded extended warranty is nearly as good, perhaps you can get a longer term for about the same $3K.

This sounds too expensive to me - I bought a similar, somewhat more optioned CPO 2012.5 with lower mileage for less. There may be more room in that dealer price.

It sounds like you've found a fair candidate but not a knockout. How long have you looked?

Considering your budget, I'd decide if I was comfortable spending three months searching. If so, do it, and buy the best overall deal you find after you just look for a month.

Also deals get better as the temperature drops if you live in an area with a cold winter.

If you haven't already, check these out. These people are on ebay to deal. I'd take 5k off whatever they're asking. Good as or better than what you're looking at, IMO.
CPO, manuals all.

All the cars you posted are great cars but not one is an S model. My understanding is an S model retails new for $15K more new. So all those are Regular Carrera's and I want more sport then a normal Carerra. Am I wrong about that???

OP,

Do not let a small ding in the bumper cover dissuade you from purchasing the car and it hardly suggests that the car was in an "accident". Good grief. Do know that it will cost between $750-$1,250 to repair (Porsche authorized).

As for the asking price? It's fair at the retail level given the mileage but you should be able to do a little better.

Best,

I'm in the same market as you (but I actually want white) and would have passed on that car because of the mileage (I'm willing to pay more but want a sub $20K) car.

I'm waiting until Fall....there's a fair amount of inventory now but I think there will be more with the new model year coming again. If I were you I'd wait- that sapphire blue you really want is out there or will be.

Default Over Revs

If after the current CPO, they may not be able to recertify it anyway. Also, if it has over revs.

Looks like the car has had TWO previous owners now.

If service is up to date and has a current CPO, the price is "fair".

Anyway, I'm out. Work calls. You're in good hands here with these Rennlisters for advice. At least the ones who posted already.

Thank you guys so much for being so helpful. What are Over Revs? Besides the logical answer which I am guessing is pushing the revs in to Red line? What should I be looking for in that report and what is reasonable?

Also they sent me the invoice for the bumper ding. It was replaced by the dealership and all that was done was new bumper and paint and for the First owner who bought the car new, that means it was CPO'd after the bumper incident.

Default Looking in all the wrong places...

It's easy for us to tell you to wait, but I don't think there are a lot coming through at that price point or with manual trannys. But as DocMo is observing, you have to ask yourself if you really would regret not getting your "perfect" color. I think the 991 whites look great myself though.

Have you been watching the North America site? I did for the last 3 months before buying my new car just a couple of weeks ago and didn't see all that many like this at this price... but I was looking a little newer and with PDK so I might not have paid attention to them. The North America site is here if you haven't found it, click on the Pre-Owned cars tab: http://www.porsche.com/usa/aboutpors...snorthamerica/
Storm thanks for the link I just searched.

I searched 991 S cars from 2012-2015 in manual in a 500 mile radius to Atlanta at or under $70K below 40K miles and it returned 0 cars available. Not in a rush and I can be patient but I have been watching the local dealerships and auto trader for about 2 months and have really come up with very few if any that fit my criteria. Maybe I am looking in the wrong places??

My must haves are:
White or Sapphire
991 S or 4S
Manual
@ or under $66K
CPO

Can any one find any clean options out there that are at or near those criteria? Everything I find that fits and lower miles are $74K+ and the one I found is essentially $10K less. What am I missing???

You are wrong about that. For the simple reason you're going to get to Dunkin Donuts just as fast with a non S as an S. Save some money, get a better car and don't fall for the hype. The world doesn't know the difference between them.
If you're hung up on an S, I bet you can get this one for 65K: http://www.davewaltervw.com/used-Akr...AB2A93CS720215

I'd pass on a 40K mile car. Too many lower priced ones out there and available at similar prices. Just my 2 cents.
