Default Dent in door jamb, was car possibly in an accident?

Hi all,

I noticed something on my new to me 13 C2S, theres a dent in the door jamb...I was told at a body shop that this is likely because the car had an impact. I wanted to get opinions on here as well, if you look at the two pictures you can see there clearly is a dent and some paint missing.

Door Jamb

Door:

What do you guys think, did I get the run around? This car has a clean car fax(which I learned can't be trusted) and I also took this car in for a PPI from a recommended Porsche indy shop, which they said it was clean. Past weekend I took into a body shop to get a quote on a scrape and they're almost 100% sure the cars been in an accident. Please share your thoughts.

Thanks!

Maybe someone closed the door on the seat belt buckle.

it's hard to tell based on those pictures. if you see any wavy lines, then it was probably hit (minor). do you have a paint meter? there are VIN stickers on 4 panels. if you are missing any of them, then it had been replaced.

It's the driver side door jamb, where the door sits when it closes against the door jamb.

I wish it where this, but it's on both sides, drivers as well as passengers, it's less notcible on the passengers though. Here's the passenger side. Same spot.

Also the Drivers side door has a few marks that looks like some chip repair was done or paint was sprayed over it, and parts of the drivers side paint appear to be wavy..you have to look at just the right angle in direct sunlight.

I and a body shop did notice some wavy paint on the driver side door...

Which 4 panels are you referring to for the vin stickers?

Thanks!

I'd have a reputable body shop look at the car. Someone that knows what they're doing will be able to tell if the car was resprayed in certain areas and could find more clues and give an accurate assessment of what previously happened.

Shouldn't be that big of a mystery.

Who did you buy it from? Mileage? Year?

I would guess there was a front-end impact. I've seen this on another car. The doors would be pushed back into the jambs like that.

Do these cars flex enough to do this if jacked up without the doors open? Corvettes do.......

It looks like the belt buckle dented the bondo from a previous hack job. Closer to the door gasket on the left in the first picture looks like the paint overspray fades out underneath the rubber boots.

The point of the door meets perfectly to the point of the car jam has the 'damage' ?

I would bet the car is totally fine ... if the car was in an accident wouldn't they have repaired it and there would be no paint chipped ?

When I study my cars which haven't been in any accidents I will always find things that I find not perfect ... it is funny sometimes something happens to my cars and I look at it and say to myself ... the next owner will think something happened that was much bigger then what actually happened ...

Really hard to see anything meaningful in the photos. But my bet is on a seatbelt being slammed in the door. Had this on my old car. Paint needed a touchup.
