Well not sure this well help much but.... I just traded my S8 and GT4 for a 991.2 C4S. It is my intention to DD drive the C4S in all condition except the very deep. For that I have a Cayenne Diesel, that my wife and I share as a "back up". She has a SL 550. Reduced my insurance and registration portfolio by one! C4S arrives in San Diego today or tomorrow, should have it in a week or two.

I have a backup vehicle in case it snows or I need to go offroad or for paint-blisteringly hot days... but the 911 isn't fancy enough of a vehicle to leave in the garage. It's not a classic Ferrari, it's going to massively depreciate even if you put zero miles on it. The 911 is the ultimate daily driver, enjoy it because you can.

Hey, I used to live in Parkland FL too lol. Heron Bay.

Current DD is a 07 Nissan Frontier. Makes the 911 allot more fun to drive. Gotta stay low key, I am a landlord and people will be less inclined to pay me my rent if I drove a 911 to visit tenants lol

My DD since 09 has been my 09 C4S. It does just fine in up to 6 inches of snow and it is just a car after all.

A fun daily driver will not take away the weekend fun from 911. I think it will increase the fun.
I dd a E63 S AMG and on weekends alternate between GT3 and Spyder.
I suggest golf R . Same platform like Audi S3 and 15 k cheaper. My son has one and loves it
I recently looked at M235 xi extensively for my other son One thing to point out with BMW . The steering in accurate but very numb. Also there all wheel drive system some how mess up the overall driving experience. We liked the M235 i so when you are researching the M235 make sure they are talking about xi not i We did settle on GLA 45 AMG and we love it and it is AWD , it does not drive like SUV and it handles great.

I daily drive my 911S (991). I even daily drive it in the winter with snow tires! Life is too short not to drive a Porsche any chance you get!

Get a Macan. You never have to not be driving a Porsche.

But sometimes you need a back seat and four doors...

I should definitely test drive one. A new Macan is more than I want to spend but I'm willing to bet I could snag a 2 year old CPO for around the same price as the M235i. Has anyone driven the new Macan 4-cyl Turbo?

At this point I think the M235i or the S3 seem to be the best options. I'll test drive both in the next couple of weeks. I think I'll keep the Mini Cooper Clubman as a cheap back up depending on what I want to spend.

Nice! I just read about some of the improvements of the M240i. Seems like a nice refresh and honestly makes it even more attractive as an option.

My wife has a Mini Cooper, and it really is a fun car!
Add me to the "just DD your 911" camp so long as you can access something else for those few really bad days. I live in a similar climate, and my wife and I share an SUV that I can take if the weather is bad and I still want to get out to work. If you don't have a backup vehicle that's another story though.
I do think a Wrangler would be fun. My wife hates how loud they are but I think they're great. I'd look to contrast your 911 - if you have a cheaper car with similar character you'll always want to take the 911. If it has a different personality you'll be having fun more of the time.
If the car is primarily for warm weather weekends and to give you that special feeling, I'd consider selling it for something that offers more drama and slower depreciation. (Ferrari 430 maybe?)

I just purchased a BMW X4 M40. It is a fun and quick DD (it's got to go out, regardless of weather, and reliably get me up the mountains to ski in the winter); and, I expect it will help my 911 last longer. It's no 911, however!

I just traded a cayenne turbo for a base 991 manual for a DD. I just need to in a 911 everyday and do not care about miles or wear... I'll get a cheap SUV for real bad weather or hauling stuff and will be looking for a 70's 911 for week end and as a project car... So I'm in the 991 DD camp.

I don't have any issue with the concept of daily driving my 991S, my problem is PARKING my Porsche and leaving it. In my urban community it stands out like a sore thumb in parking lots full of "lesser" cars belonging to folks who sometimes take out their frustrations, consciously or not, on anything as bourgeois as my chariot of the rich. So for a lot of my errands I must choose my Touareg TDI or the M235i which are somewhat less conspicuous.
