Looked great! Just what wanted w/multifunction controls also too! Nice size and weight too!
It's been a couple of weeks. Were they able to get this done?

So mixed report back. Dealer install of wheel went perfectly. Airbag works fine. All are easy connections to existing connectors w/no issue. BUT new 991.2 wheel MultiFxn controls will not work on my 991.1 with older OEM MultiFxn. None of the buttons will work and master tech working on the car wa unable to get the wheel programmed and coded! Kept getting rejected/errors which they told me meant somehow Porsche's new signal sent from the wheel is somehow different than what came with my car when it left the factory line. So I would lose all MultiFxn controls which would almost be okay except I also would lose my right mini MFD fxn also. I could do without radio volume and channel up/down and loss of heat tho but not the MFD fxn. So they put the stock wheel back.

So Will have to either wait until the release some sort of upgrade later in the model year that allows them both to talk or do the sports design wheel w/stalk IF I want a better looking and cleaner wheel concept! Deciding now whether to hold onto wheel and airbag combo or sell it to another RL. 😥

Now if it was the non MFxn wheel they said there was no issues cause nothing to really code! So if your car is a non MFxn then I guess you're golden! I wonder if I could do the control stalk from the Sports Design wheel and the new 918 wheel? Waste of buttons I know but love the design!

Sorry to hear it didn't work out. Did they try connecting the wheel to the .1 MF module or the .2 MF module?

.1 MF module. No joy on that working. Not sure if putting in a .2 MF module would work with the rest of the car and not throw other errors when connected to PWITS. Will ask that question tho tomorrow at pickup

So if one wants to change .1 MF to .1 Sport design, you would need to purchase a sport design wheel and control stalk, correct? the airbag can be transferred?

Question now is how to get the 991.2 MF wheel to work with the 991.1 car. Tech said wiring was slightly different but with similar connectors??? Not sure if there is a solution or not. Maybe a 991.2 MF module would work...may give it a try. But otherwise the 991.2 wheel NON MF will be a direct transplant.

Still happy with the new wheel? What was the cost of the part?

Sounds like a nightmare if you have a 991.1 with MF. I think I'll just get the 991.1 Sport wheel with alcantara. $1,549 and I can re-use the OEM airbag looks like.

Not as cool as a 991.2 wheel.

Sorry to hear that but kudos to you for taking the plunge and giving it a try. I may look into Techart paddle conversions. Anyone tried one?

Easy if you use the stalk as your MF control. I like the cleaner look of the non MF wheel too.

GT SPORT .2 WHEEL Transplant

A few have asked questions.

I started out with the .1 MF wheel. Original build on my .1 C2S

Switched to the .1 Sport Wheel and added the MF stalk too.

When .2 came out, wasn't nuts about it but liked the smaller airbag. The GT Sport wheel was installed by my dealer. Easy swap. Once again, liked the clean look of no MF.

The GT Sport wheel in PDK and NO MF was a custom order from Germany through Sunset.

GT SPORT .2

Wheel: $1,322
Airbag: $1,069

For those wondering about the stalk, I recall something like $200 or so. I think this is the part # Confirm though. 970-613-043-01-1E0

Still very satisfied with the .2 conversion

Ahh, good to know. So just but a non-MF 991.2 wheel, airbag, and 991.1 sport MF stalk. Thanks again.

Exactly!!

Seems from the attempt here on a .2 MF wheel, that there are issues.

Oh!!!!

Forgot to mention, the .2 wheel I ordered was WITHOUT that ugly sport/sport + button on it. Hence the custom order.

So my .2 GT SPORT wheel would be for a .2 PDK car without the Sport Chrono option.

Still use my stalk for all MF controls and Sport and Sport + buttons on my center console.
