Default GTI daily driver?

As some of us may know, the VW GTI has long been admired by auto enthusiasts and publications for it's performance, build quality, and overall value regardless of the category of car. Many Porsche pubs have long mentioned that the GTI is a favorite second car to many Porsche 911 owners. 2 of the salesman at Reeves Porsche (Tampa) both have GTI's and are 991 and 987 owners. I'm curious, any others have GTI's as a daily driver? (Yes I know, I need a 3 car garage)

Bitch, get yo *** out da garage and take yo place in da driveway!

Yes, I love gray but I already have a white GTI that is due to arrive in 2 weeks. I didn't get the option to track that one across the Atlantic though. LOL.

Yes, I have a 2015 GTI that I got as a daily driver. I chose DSG, which I regret, but my wife won't drive a manual, and she borrows it sometimes. Anyway, it's a fun car. If I didn't have a 991, I'd be perfectly content with a GTI (6-speed) as my only car.

Ha - just noticed yours all match. My Carrera, my wife's Q5, and my GTI do too (black).

Agreed! The few years I went without my 997 I was perfectly content with my 2012 GTI. I missed the 911 but the GTI still kept me excited about driving. I've always had DSG and I don't think I'll ever go back to a manual gearbox. The new APR software is ridiculous on these cars too. Vroom!

why would someone have the same color for all their cars? lol
The beetle is a nice daily too. I had one on loaner one time and it scoots around just fine. Thank God you didn't pick yellow!

So who punched the bumper in the Macan? Last VW GTI I had was a 1986. I enjoyed it until the gears ate a hole in the tranny case. I like each of my cars to be a different color. So when the wife and I go somewhere I just tell her we are taking the black car or the blue car and so on.

Mk 7 GTI is a great DD. It really is all the car an enthusiast driver really needs for driving on the streets. FWD leaves a little to be desired on track. The Performance Package is a must either way.

Wifey backed up into a flatbed truck that wasn't fully parked in the parking spot. Jeeesh!

Not a GTi but I do have an A4 as a DD... 8 speed auto is pretty good, the 2.0 isn't a bad motor and AWD is nice. I'm thankful for it after trips where I rent something american Sline has the same suspension as a GTi.

I am also enamored with the GTI. I had mine all picked out a year ago but the Performance Pack was back ordered and I was getting impatient waiting for a new car. I ended up buying a BMW M235i. It's a nice car, I love the looks, it's wicked fast and handles well. I got a great deal buying off the dealers lot at the end of the year, so no complaints.....BUT....I can't get my mind off the GTI. It's the perfect size, I love a hatch, it has a great interior, etc, etc. I still may go that route. Such a quandary. It haunts me.

Daughter has a VW Golf and loves. She doesn't have enough coin for the GTI. (my error - I bought it for her - I was too cheap and you can't start at the top of the pile) Me - I've gone off to the dark side. For the winter it is a well-modified Audi S6 and the summer is the Boxster S.

Get that bumper nice and warm and push it out.

Nothing wrong with an Audi at all. especially an S6!
Taking the Macan to the body shop this week. Don't like driving with beat up bumper!
