Default Got rear ended today...

Picked up my (Perfect) CPO C2S Cab 7 weeks ago in LA, beautiful drive home to SF via Ojai etc , great car so far, until this morning..

Lady behind me drove into me circa 40mph, no airbag deployment, seatbelt pretensioners activated though.

See glass pic for what happens when your roll over safety activates - glass flew into front of car - really hoping this is totalled, sports exhaust etc destroyed and panels all seem to be buckled :-( Engine def took the brunt of the impact

Still alive though, and a car is only an inanimate object - won't feel the same if it is just repaired though... beginning to wish I had leased it, but c'est la vie, at least I am alive and able to moan about it.

That just sucks! I'm really sorry for what happened to you! I'm glad you're ok!
She was probably texting...
I hope they total it and you'll buy a new one!
Good luck and let us know the outcome!

Very sorry. Glad no injuries. Negotiate hard with insurance. STG991 will help you find another beauty if necessary.

Wow, those rollover safety bars are legit.

Glad you are ok and I agree, I'd be hoping for totaled also.

Yeah. First time I've seen that. Are they mechanical or pyrotechnic like the pre-tensioners?

Sad news but glad your ok. Hopefully it's a total loss. The rear frames on these cars are pretty sensitive so I'm sure you have a good shot at a total.

I thought the bars only deployed when imminent rollover was detected? As in, car is at an angle where it's probably going over. Which can happen without an impact, of course.

Sorry to hear! Just makes you sick to have a great car damaged by someone's negligence. Same thing happened to me. 56k damage on a new TTS. So glad no injuries!! Truly the most important thing is you are in one piece.
If not totaled be sure and claim diminished value if your state allows it. Texas does and I got my claim paid by State Farm.

Did her phone fly out of her hand into your car?

I've been rear ended twice by drunks and once just missed it from a distracted driver that realized at the last minute and swerved/skidded around me. As I was sitting in my brand new S4 that had just replaced the A6 destroyed by one of the drunks. F people sometimes.

Seems I read somewhere they are spring loaded.
