Grinding gears (7MT)
Does anyone else have really bad grinding when going from 1st to 2nd gear when shifting quickly? I have to really slow my shifts down to keep it from grinding. It doesn't happen in any other gear.

The seat position is good. I don't think it's anything I'm doing wrong. I used to race my old mustangs at the drag strip all the time so I think I'm okay with shifting. I could shift a lot quicker in those cars, though.

If your vehicle is under warranty than I suggest you make an appointment to have it resolved. From what gather these transmissions aren't serviceable other than clutch. So you may be looking at a new transmission.

Yeah that's happened to me. Under hard acceleration going from 1st to 2nd, grind 2nd gear. Figured it was user error, the car is still new to me so i figured the car was throwing me back and I didn't have the clutch down all the way. Let me know if you find out something different.

The 1-2 shift synchronising is known to be weak. Try blipping the throttle without the clutch pedal depressed then shift to 2nd under the appropriate RPM. See if that goes smoothly.

I've got an oil change coming up. I'm going to have the dealership take a look at it and report back any findings!

I have not experienced that problem & I do not have to depress the clutch all the way to the floorboard. I usually depress my clutch about 3/4 of the way. The only time I depress my clutch to the floorboard is when I'm in first gear at a full stop. I would take it in for service.

One of the many reasons
I traded in a 14 991s manual transmission for a 14 turbo in pdk.
Porsche really bastardized the pdk to make it into a manual.

Been driving mine for 3 years and no grinding. It is a bit mechanical feeling , like metal to metal, from 1st to 2nd but no grinding. Is this what you're feeling?
