Not sure if this has been posted, but, IMHO, it is a unique take on print advertising, and I have never seen anything of this nature before. Additionally, as us Porsche consumers are really the ones ultimately paying for their "marketing", then why not enjoy the ride?
Be sure to watch the short YouTube - 2 minutes and 21 seconds.
I haven't purchased a magazine in over a decade, absent the Christophorus that arrives in my mailbox each month, but I've always liked Fast Company, so I might purchase a copy in order to show my children this ad.
ultimately too much work for me to start folding up stuff and putting it on tablets. The ad itself was unremarkable and typically porsche AD bs.
They need to start realizing that the 911 is not far above the competition, if at all, and start working on building better cars, not better advertising.
So an advertisement about an advertisement? I've never seen so much hype over a facelift model.
Look are this nice piece of work. Invitation from multiple dealers.
"Come witness the completely redesigned rear air intake grill". Most important talking point they have, making it be the first thing mentioned? Shouldn't any performance stats be highlighted first?
The crazy thing is they're sending out emails and advertising the 911R when there's no chance in hell anyone can even get one. How ridiculous is that? A good marketing tool for a car very few people will ever be able to own.

There's actually kind of a neat story in that the rear deck lid cover is curved and grooved at the bottom - unless you're standing over top you can't see it but it's forcing air into the engine (in addition to the front grills and fans under the rear deck lid).
Supposedly when they put the turbo in the .1 body it was only producing like 320 hp- it needed air- a lot of air, so there's a lot of "fixes" to pump a ton of air into the engine and when you see the wind tunnel shots of what's going on, purely from air flow dynamic situation, it's pretty cool.
I was told the same by my sales manager. He told me that the engineers were able to recover 80 hp as a result of the new rear intake. I have no way to confirm the validity of the claim.
Sorry, not terribly impressed. First, it's a projection, not a hologram. And then they sort of botched it. Stop the video when the car is first displayed, you will see that they project the same side of the car against each side the the acetate prism. Why didn't they project the four perspective views, one to each side? That way you could turn your head around the prism and it would appear as if you were looking at a solid 3D car.
And where was the 'interactive' part, you launch a video and place the prism on it - didn't see any way interact.
As much as I like Porsche it is disappointing to see their marketing arm head towards the main stream 'shiny objects' model like everyone else does.

Interested to hear what cars you think are better cars than a 911. I an buying a house and thinking of letting go my 911 for something less expensive... for the price of a low mile CPO, I cannot think of a better sports cars near the price range. M3/M4? Jag? These cars have all been tested against the 911 and came up very short....

Corvette, Camaro Z28, Mustang Gt350 for a start. Hell even a miata is likely a better sports car.
