If you're happy with the car and its price, buy it.

If you are not happy with the price, then continue the negotiation process.

If you're not happy with the car or its price, don't buy it and keep looking. I assure that you will be asking the same questions on the next one.

There will always be better cars, lesser cars, cheaper ones, more expensive ones. Who gives a fk if it's hot or not....it's your money, and eventually your car. You have to be happy with it. That's all that really matters.

Best success,

Just want to make sure I am understanding pricing guidance correctly, the deal I have agreed to is:

85k
-my trade in (probably 1k or 2k higher than market)
+ taxes
+ fees (including $600 "doc" fee, 200 license fee and 255 gob fee)
For a total that without the trade in would equal $91,300 "out of the door" (or 1k or 2k + taxes less if we discount the overvaluation of my trade in)

How does that sound? Should I have negotiated the fees lower?

When you talk about the prices you paid are you referring to the price prior to taxes and fees or to the "out of pocket"?

Thanks

Something is not working in my phone, just want to make sure my question is posted, the prices you guys mentioned within this thread are prior to taxes and fees or final "out of pocket"?

it's ok to pay what you think is right. better you make the decision for your own economic situation than leaving it up to someone else. do the work. do the research. learn about the cars and the market. it's your money, not someone else's. it's not hard.

Thanks, oalvarez, I have been researching for some time and my economic situation would not change too much if I pay 10k more or less, but I would rather like to pay a fair (market or a bit under) price than to learn after doing it that I paid more than I should have.

From the prices some people has commented here, if those were before taxes, I think I am ok. However, if they are out the door prices, apparently I might be better looking for another deal... And I want to know before tomorrow, which is when de deal is supposed to happen!

Thanks anyway

Guys never suggest "out the door" prices. If they did, wouldn't be good advice. Always pre-tax.

For 17K miles and a CPO, if you can get at least $40-45K off MSRP on a $130K range car you're doing well. Try and get it between $85-87K PRE TAX.

Don't think you've ever told us the exact MSRP other than 130's.

Does the car check out cosmetically and history wise?? You should be good with my above info.

He's looking for advice not a lecture. If he was 100% confident in his decision he would have never asked questions. Not everyone is a used 991 pro. Many guys are buying their first 911. Many dealers are overpriced and pray on the clueless buyers. Why overpay no matter how much money you have?? I just saved another extra $20 off an OEM Porsche part yesterday just because I asked. Why not?? Will cover my shipping.

I applaud him for asking BEFORE a purchase than after it. The same critics would come out after the fact and say he paid too much. Can't win.

Good advice. If you're spending that much on a car, you should be able to make some of these decisions yourself and learn to live with them.

Thanks!

I'll see/test the car tomorrow, I have a refundable deposit on it, if everything looks and feels good, I'll drive back in her

Any specific issues re the transaction that I need to consider / do tomorrow?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, mb1!

Oh, and STG, a FREE tip for you! try utilizing one message instead of three or four successive ones. there's even a button that allows you to "multi quote" if need be. plus it's good forum etiquette.

911Seeker: just get the transaction done and start enjoying your new car!

On my way to the dealer... I hope the car is as perfect as I want it to be... Or I will have to come back in mine!

Thanks for all the advice (practical and sometimes philosophical) that I got from RL

Best

Good luck! Have you checked carfax? You could also get a PPI done.

If you type the VIN into vindecoderz.com you can get the MSRP and all original options.
