Will be following....

All your other delivery brethren will be wondering why your car sounds so much better

I'm sure yours is the last NEW NA 991.1 GTS to be rolling out of Stuttgart. They should give you a plaque and throw a party.

Thanks all! Our experience today at the factory surpassed all expectations.

We began the day at 10am with a factory tour with four others. Porsche kindly supplied the quintessential grandmother figure to tend to Baby Bash in our absence. (Apparently, tour guests need to be house trained.)

My wife and I were both shocked and thoroughly impressed with how nearly all aspects of manufacture are still by hand. Incredible for 2016. Our guide was an experienced employee with obvious passion for the brand. We saw an UV RS literally get its fenders bolted on, drive trains get married to painted bodies, robots diligently moving components along the walkway we were on and so much more.

The other members in our party, I'll try to update with their names as I'm still in a whirl and feeling the dual effects of her lag, had already collected white GT4s. Ours was a party of true hardcore enthusiasts.

After the tour we were ushered to a VIP lunch with a stellar view of the factory. The filet, champagne and German-domestic Cabernet were fantastic. My wife's request for a non-meat entree was easily accommodated. And Baby Sebastián was the perfect gentleman; he let everyone in the restaurant eat in peace with not even a peep.

After desert and espresso, and making new friends, my family and I met The Blue Baron for the first time. Ronny, our ever-patient tutor, let us marvel at the final product since no photos of these CXX options exist on one place online. To see the car in the flesh was magic. After taking in the car, Ronny gave us a thorough walk through and helped us program the car to our specific preferences. After 90 minutes, no joke, we loaded the baby seat into the back, collapsed the stroller into the frunk and exited the building.

The car is now in the capable hands of Schwabbenfolia. Sandro is a truly cool character and his shop is spotless. Because lunch ran late with all the car talk and laughter, we'll collect the GTS Targa tomorrow afternoon.

I'm simply blown away by the warmth, passion and professionalism of everyone we met today. It endears me further to the Porsche marque, if such a thing is possible, and serves as a reminder of how people are the true heart and soul of the car world.

To share this experience with my wife and our 4.5 month old son is beyond words. I have a lump in my throat as I write this and I'm not usually the excessively emotive type.

Here's a few teaser pics from today. I'll post some photos of the car as soon as we can take them.

Thanks Jeff. Words don't do the factory experience justice.

Which restaurant did you eat in? Christophorus? What a great place. Best steak! They fly it in from Kansas! Pretty funny.

Glad to hear the delivery day went very well!

I agree, very shocking to see real people in the factory doing most of the work.

Excited to see more!

Ah, they finally perfected the invisibility option. It completely obviates the need for Paint to Sample.

Sidebar: I always wondered why folks doing ED had difficulty uploading photos. Always thought it was simply the excitement. I can now report, first hand, that the issue actually has to do with WiFi connectivity. The hotel is lovely, but the Internet is a bit third world. (What's up with that Germany?) Pics have finally been uploaded -- multiple times haha -- and all is now well with the world.

Apologies for the multiple pics. But it ain't all that bad right? A sapphire blue GTS Targa. Alright, off to pick up the car from Schwabenfolia shortly.
