The system has no problem dealing with the lower-rate coils, which is what the car rides around on most of the time, or leaning into the higher-rate coils slowly, but when the car hits a big bump (such as a freeway expansion joint), PASM sez "huh?" and the car porpoises. PASM is usually able to recorrect before there's a third oscillation, but that second one gives the game away.

Lesson: The TechArt springs are fine if you want the looks and don't mind degrading the factory suspension excellence at times (it is a 3-8% of the time problem where I live), but the right setup has adjustable perches and straight-rate springs, imo. And some "extras" to account for the geometry changes in a base car, as the drops most enthusiasts are after are significant, at 20-30mm or more.

Frankly, I find the stock Carrera suspension to be perfect for road use but for the high ride height, a purely visual issue (but one I can't unsee). On track, I found myself wanting more spring rate, and Cup tires (which means even more spring rate), and and and in admittedly small measures. But this is, for me, a street car.
I agree with all the above, when my car was at Elephant Racing I asked if they had a linear spring that would match my b16's, and they did, but said it would compromise the dual nature of my car setup and push it more for pure track. Since I am on normal roads 99% of the time versus a race track I opted to stay with my progressive spring. But also my shocks are valved to match that spring so that probably makes a difference. Also my DSC really helps here.

Skim off all of the techo mumbo jumbo. We all know the TRUTH. We lowered our cars because it makes them look cool, bitchin', rad - like parking lot all-stars.

Here's a video I made as part of my build 991 series with my thoughts on the topic:

The fourth episode of my series takes you along for the Techart lowering spring install process for the 991 and the before / after of the results!

My track photo dates from when we had our OEM suspension. No PASM. My worry was that lowering the car might cause "problems." As I've mentioned before, eventually I "gave in" and installed the Techart springs. Visually I've been very happy. Car simply looks better! As for performance problems? None. Have to be careful with road dips and driveways, but I already had to do that. As for the most important issue: track use. Since my last post I've done several track days at the AAA Speedway ROVAL and am happy to report that the +/- 1" lower car caused no problems. Well, I did get a bit of underside damage on the right front from challenging a turn curb...but that was my error. Otherwise, as I've already posted: lower car looks rad, bitchin, cool, groovy...reason enough to lower our 911s.

I've had my techart springs installed now for a few months and very happy with this upgrade. No qualms at the track either. very compliant on the road.

For those with Techart springs, what is the correct rear perch setting? Should it be at the lowest notch?

Edit: Found the answer above, seems like the consensus is that lowest notch looks the best for an even height.

@LWG your car looks amazing! I am surprised at how much the TechArts lowered the car compared to what the general assumption is (not nearly as low as h&r). Based on your measurements-it’s pretty much as low as my 991.2 carerra t on h&r springs
