Techart vs H&R springs...

So i want to lower my C2 911 991 (No PASM) but i haven't really found to many people lowering there 991. I found a lot on 997, it seems like the Techart was better than the H&Rs. But those used to drop 15-20mm and the new one looks like it drops 30mm. I want to close that huge gap in the back. Anyone have any experience with dropping the 991? Any advice would be good.

Just installed Techart on my C2 no PASM. Really like it, ride is about 1" front and rear ride quality is almost stock, but you can tell it has been lowered. They say that the Techart won't sag too. Just enough for my driveway without killing anything underneath. From what others are saying, H&R does go a bit lower than Techart. Install was easy on the front but the rear upper mount was a sweatty, hand cramping, back breaking ton-0-fun...lol make sure you use some sort of air or battery powered ratchet, that's gonna be a big help. Had H&R on other cars that I've had and overall I think they make one of the best lowering springs, as well as Eibach for ride quality. Hope this helps.

I also have the Techart and like them. The ride is almost the same as stock. I skipped the H&R because I got those for my Cayenne and they were way stiffer than stock. I will say that my cab sits lower than my GT3 which I think is odd. They may have installed them incorrectly. Here's a pic right after I put new wheels on; it's lower than that after the suspension settled:

Check out the KW H.A.S kit. It's more expensive than Techart or H&R springs, but the fact that they engineered the sysytem with bump stops is great. Techarts and H&R springs will just ride on the factory stops.

Love the stance with techart springs.

After comparing just about every single photo on the net of a 991 w/techarts installed I opted instead for the HRs. I had s-pasm on my c2s and comparing to the pics of the techart drop there was barely a difference from the s-pasm height. HRs gave me just that little bit more drop I wanted. Ride quality is the same.

Thanks for the pics and opinions. Im leaning towers the techarts i want to lower it but i want it to still ride good with out compromising my ride lol. Also i have drop a couple cars in the past just want to know if anyone has had camber problems like eating up your tiers in the inside in 3k miles lol. My old maserati gt used to eat up the tiers every 3-5k miles.

Looks excellent. Nice job.

I know the thread is about lowering springs, but as I've mentioned in other threads coilovers are the way to go for many reasons including the 'cambering' out problem and upsetting the dampening harmonics. I've got coilovers and lowered the car 22 mm.

H&R if you want an almost flush drop. Ride feels a touch stiffer to me. Visually, Techart isn't enough IMHO. YMMV.

Best,
Tom

Does anyone know if the Techarts have a stiffer spring rate than the H&Rs?

I talked with h&r several years ago and they said they make springs for all the tuners, like techart, cargraphic, Porsche, they said they make them all, just paint different colors. They could be different rates, but if they research and develop a spring for a certain car and get it like they want it, who is going to tell them to make ours stiffer, softer?
