Less than 24 hours, the right side key fob blade rear retention tab sheared off, leaving the right side blade loose. It fell off the fob in my drawer. I followed the instructions in the video to the letter, heard a satisfying 'pop' as the blade snapped into place. I don't handle the fob roughly, or mess with it once its on. I've kind of had enough, so I just installed a rubber fitted key cover I had to give it more visibility as well as retain the key fob blade cover in place.
If anyone knows of an actual OEM source of these, to OEM quality, let me know; I am going on a hunt for one myself. I don't want to have to buy a new key, but would be willing to spend some $ if I could find a part that would not break less than a day after install.
I bought a Rennline Painted Key Fob from Pelican for $25 and it appears to be OEM pieces that are painted with a high quality metallic paint. It is very good quality and I used the Porsche instructions from the Suncoast site. I assumed that these are similar to the painted Suncoast key fobs but without the complete color selection or $$$.

I've bought 4 pairs of these off ebay now. No problems with quality / fit of any so far. Maybe you got a defective one?
I bought the RSR race car version but had issue on original and replacement cover as well.
All looked great except the front of center piece. both had scotch marks with black paint off.
Seller was nice enough to look for better one and sending me the 3rd one (currently waiting on it).
Left picture is the original I received and the right side is the replacement I got.

gloss black side with CF center looks great. Where did you get your center piece from?

Wow, bad batch for sure. At least they are looking after you.
ordered a white key fob set to replace stock black i was given, and to match my car. also ordered the SSK from suncoast and plan to DIY the install by following this video:
I had the 9-year-old original PPF removed and replaced with Stek Dynoshield and installed a new hood badge from AASE Sales. The car looks basically "showroom fresh" again. I'm immensely proud of how cleaned up it is compared to when I purchased it CPO'd 4 years ago. Wouldn't even think it was the same car given how poor of condition it was in cosmetically.

Return it (the shifter).
Get the Numeric. It is 100% better than the factory shifter (including the SSK). A shorter shift level doesn't make a difference when the entire mechanism is made from plastic.
Where are you located in PA? You can gladly come and try my setup. I have the Numeric shifter and cables.
Trust me - night and day difference.

i appreciate the offer but will politely pass. My reasons for going oem ssk are for incremental improvement while remaining essentially “stock”. Not everyone may want what numeric has to offer as an alternative so it’s a bit off base to suggest it’s worlds better if that experience isn’t what you’re looking for. Build quality could be argued but these parts are still porsche engineered after all.. will report back after the swap and some driving.
