What did you buy your 991 today thread

I have a brake fluid moisture sensor I bough for less than $10 and it works reasonably well.
If you don't track your car, you can dry it down and keep it down by simply changing the brake fluid in the reservoir twice a year. Buy some cheap Tierney batters and a good Dot 4 or compatible Dot 5 fluid. Stick all the fluid out of the reservoir and replace with new dry fluid from an unopened can. That's it.
Moisture in the lines and in the cylinders diffuses throughout the system. Water is a small molecule. My moisture meter proves this.
But if you have degradation products in the fluid from hard and hot use, you will have to bleed to get that crap out of the brake system. It forms in the calipers when they are hot.
If you track it, get it flushed. Otherwise, for easy street use, replacing the fluid in the reservoir will dry the system and keep it dry. But I'd still want a flush every 2-3 years.

I actually bought two rear tires last year, but just got around to mounting them today. These are Yoko Advan to match the OEM tires my car was delivered on. After 17k miles, the rears were about 2/3 worn. Fronts worn less than half.

Burning Brakes
I saw that Michelin is having their spring rebate sale going on so I jumped on a set of Pilot Sport 4S tires for my new wheels.
Going with 255/35 fronts and 315/30 rears (20").
Wheels are going to be cut this week!!! I can't wait to show everyone my custom design Litespeed Racing forged magnesium wheels.

Got a set of ever so slightly used Cup 2's for my street (and back up track) tires. 1st time for Cup 2's so looking forward to comparing these to the Goodyear 3r's, which I think are insanely good on track. The tire installer was bemused by my roof rack.
Seems to be tire week in the "what did I buy my 911" thread.

Three Wheelin'
I just read your post about the Antigravity battery. I have to tell you, I waited 2 years before buying mine and I was really apprehensive because the battery costs so much more than a factory one does.
HOWEVER, in the year I have owned it I have used the restart feature twice. Both times my battery had discharged to the point where the doors wouldn't unlock and car was dead.
This feature alone is worth the price of admission. If you have ever had to use the key to unlock the door (my car is keyless so not so easy), then get a jumper onto the post in the footwell, just to get the car to turn over,
its a royal Pain in the A**. In addition, the car has much more cranking power and I have aftermarket cameras, subwoofers, Stereo, etc.. Weight savings is also big if you're into that stuff..
Its a great upgrade. Everything about it exceeds the factory battery, its an improvement across the board.. Thumbs up
