Meet the new, lower priced AWE Tuning Foiler™ Wind Diffuser for 981/991s
Presenting the lower priced, injection-molded AWE Tuning Foiler™ Wind Diffuser. The simple, elegant solution to wind buffeting in Porsche 981/991s.
What’s wind buffeting?
You know that sound that happens when your window is down at speed that makes it feel like your head is going to implode? That’s called wind buffeting. It happens when you’re moving fast, and it’s quite the issue on the newest generation of Porsche Boxster/Cayman and 911. So instead of just letting our brains melt under the pressure, we did something about it.
Porsche design
The AWE Tuning Foiler™ Wind Diffuser boasts an unobtrusive yet elegant design. Crafted from UV stabilized injection-molded plastic, the Foiler™ Wind Diffuser complements Porsche styling without calling unwanted attention. Installation is a breeze with AWE Tuning’s user-friendly, bolt-on design.
Passenger and driver’s side Foiler™ Wind Diffuser included, as well as all hardware needed for installation.
Roll down your window and wave goodbye to wind buffeting.

After looking at the installation guide, I'll just crack the window on the other side.

The trick is having that screw visible in Step 1 so you can Pass Go to Step 11 of 13.
Is there a particular feature/model/year that has the visible screw without having to remove the trim piece to check? (no jokes please)
At least the install guide is well written with plenty of photos to guide the adventurous.

That will make no difference. If you have one or both windows down you will get the buffeting. On the other hand, there will be no buffeting if you have the detector on one or both sides.

Not all cars require all these steps. Read instruction #1. You can tell what you need to do by simply popping off the cover as described.
I did the carbon fiber version and I skipped straight to step #11. It took 10 minutes per side. A great product that really makes a difference.

If it's mirror dependent, which mirrors do you have? What model and year car?

My car is 2014 C2S with the Sport Design mirrors.

Yes that would be interesting to know because he has the same mirrors as mine. At some point we should at least figure out a pattern of what fitments are super easy and which are longer.

Any tested benefits for cabs with top down?
edit: I'm not paying 80 bucks for 2 pieces of plastic that cost .25.... not even with a porsche design sticker over where it says made in 3rd world country.

2012 991S here...no screw visible so I'd need to take apart the door.
I agree the cost is pretty rediculous for 2 pieces of plastic. There isn't much R&D needed here...people have solved the problem with a piece of folded cardboard. Come on guys...you don't need to have a 7,800% markup...
