Never was $50, that was just someone fishing for a group buy price that was never taken up.

To me, if you like to have the windows down when you can and the buffeting is causing a problem, it's worth that still-modest price regardless of whether it cost them just pennies to make. Low volume products need to cost more to make it worth someone spending the time and effort to solve the problem. It worked for me.

I also think people get caught up on material costs when they are making a product that required design time/labor and tool development to create. While every one they make now has an incremental cost of only a few dollars in new material, they started out investing at risk and therefore in the hole after paying for tooling and design with only hopes of sales. They had a lot of cost to recover before their revenue became profit.

If the market was bigger it would be a bit different, but when they're selling volume on the order of hundreds, $75 per sale sounds reasonable. If they were to sell thousands or tens of thousands $75 may be overpriced, but if that were true someone would come along and try to undercut them so the price would drop.

That's right, however the shape of the part is not aligned with the shape of the trim piece surrounding the window, causing a gap between the foiler and the window triangle. Hard to get a good picture, sorry.

No trying to be cheap, I just was wondering about the price difference

I love mine. On late model 991's, installation is simple and quick, even for a novice. If u have an early 991, it can be ugly. I don't know where the break point is, but on my 2015 C2S, installation took me barely over 30 minutes. And more than half of that was trying to figure out what to do, as the lighting was dim in our indoor parking garage. They definitely do the job needed. If you check b4 ordering to see if that screw is visible, according to their install instructions, u will know which type of installation u will face. I bought mine at Suncoast Parts.

I didn't take it to imply you were being cheap at all!

I work in aerospace/defense and people are often startled at the prices of things. But they start to make a lot of sense when you realize how much invested time and hardware must be paid for out of small unit quantity sales figures. Kind of analogous to how a person might look at the bill casually and think a doctor or lawyer charge a high hourly rate rate but don't think hard enough to recognize the support staff and overhead costs that are paid out of it. In these cases I think the billing/accounting on the customer side can be misleading about the total costs of business.

Has anybody installed these on a 2015 911 GTS?

When I tried order them on their web site, I couldn't find any for my trim.

(I did emailed AWE but no replies in 2 days)

Thanks

So is this a yes or a no for the 991 GTS models?

It's a yes. The only MY GTS the Foiler™ was not showing was for 2015, which has now been remedied.

Based on advice from Josh at AWE I sanded the lower part of the "fin" and I got it to fit. Problem solved. This may be the same issue amet was seeing.

I checked, I have the visible torx screw (2015 911 GTS). Just placed my order. Can't wait to hit the track wind buffer free.

Here's mine. The texture and color match OEM. Fitment (gap) isn't 100%, but expected from an aftermarket part. I think I can move around to make the gap better. I haven't tried it as it's under 30 degrees outside.
